Prediction League - Top At Christmas winner is...
at 16:59 22 Dec 2025

I've no idea either.

It was easier a few seasons back when you could just predict no goalscorer & QPR 0!

So Cifuentes ?

And Watford when we beat them under Ainsworth. The season before that?

It's what happens when you're relegated with players that can't be arsed!

Fantastic win but the Cifuentes Abuse

I could hear it in the Upper Loft (ML) as loudly & nearly as often as "What's the score".

I was surprised on the first hearing, but understood what Clive has been referring to as abuse on social media. I thought it was awful, but I did appreciate the rendition's of Last Christmas!

Kone was not selected for AFCON. If he had been he couldn't have played yesterday.

The problem is that three of the four games are against teams in the bottom four.

We've not played Portsmouth yet, but we're yet to beat any of the three we've faced! I would feel more confident if the games were against Stoke, Preston, Hull etc. And if we were at home on Boxing Day! Am I right in thinking that our last away win on Boxing Day was a 1-0 iwin n 1967 at Plymouth, courtesy of a Rodney penalty?

West Ham tickets

The pricing would 100% be down to West Ham, with Rangers having agreed to their proposal.

As a senior I have no objection to not having a deduction at £10/£15 per ticket for all.

And it's going so well for them in Europe!

Celtic currently have 3 points & Rangers 1 in the Conference League after being eliminated from ther Champions League.

Things you don’t hear in football ground anymore

From Autumn Almanac, the "QPR attack" replacing my "Autumn Almanac". I can't remember if it survived into the 70's.

From the same song, instead of going "to Blackpool for our holiday", they went to "football on a Saturday, kicked their f****** heads in all right".

January transfer rumours
at 09:35 18 Dec 2025

I don't think that there is a thing called "break clause".

From memory, but by no means certain, all clubs can recall a player in January that is on a "seasons" loan.

I always thought it was a Crow rather than a Cow! Not that I can imagine a Crow having a large posterior!

The best football played by QPR.
at 09:53 17 Dec 2025

As I'm old, I will mention times from long ago, but I'll also name a couple from this century. A couple of defeats as well!

Over a period, the 1973/74 season is the best that I've seen Rangers play. Yes, better than 75/76, but not as consistent.

Individual matches:-
1969 home to Leeds (lost 1-0)
1969 away to Tottenham (lost 3-2)
1973 away to Wolves
1975 home to Liverpool
1976 away to Tottenham
1983 away to Ipswich
1983 away to Norwich (yes, we can play well & win there!)
2002 (?) away to Manchester United (seen thanks to ITV!)
2009(?) home to Preston ( the first of the three four goal matches under magilton)
2010 home to Swansea
2011 away to Cardiff
2024 home to West Brom
2024 home to Leeds

I saw very few matches between 1983 & 2003 so I've only been able to include one from that period.

The worst football played by QPR

I've seen at least two 4-1 midweek defeats at Peterborough. The first one was when we were three leagues higher! Both games had a Rangers player sent off - Finch & Shitu.

I'm not sure I could pick a "winner" for an overall match, but I would have to consider the following (I'm sure there are many others to add):-

Away to Peterborough - League Cup 1968
Home to West Brom - Boxing Day 1968
Home to Bolton - shortly after losing to Chelsea in the FA Cup
Home to Ipswich - 1979. relegation & re-appointing Docherty
Away to Southend - a Friday night on Sky
Away to Watford - first game of the season

Ridiculous kick off time for west ham away
at 17:30 16 Dec 2025

The middle of the North Bank was rammed, but there was lots of room at either end. Personally, I had two or three steps to myself a little bit to the left of the main body of support.

The following year, Brighton - Sheffield Wednesday has 54,267 quoted as the attendance, which is higher that I thought Highbury held!

Villa Park, May 1968. The club claimed we took 18,000, but other reports stated circa 15,000.

I think it will be a drive to Gants Hill & then the central line Phil. I certainly don't fancy a ride on the bus from Marks Tey to Billericay!

The important question is which pub to visit. Or where come to that! The last time we were away to them (Upton Park) we went to the Railway in Hornchurch, but any sugestions along the central line will be gratefully received.
