I hope the club do make a Sheehan an offer and also intheir conversations they align as Sheehan spoke of. The risk is the owners and executive management may not share his vision resulting in him moving on. This would be sad and bad news for us fans but the club needs a plan b shoukd plan a not pan out out surely?
You are missing my point....could Grimes perform the role O Brien does advanced in midfield and aggressive I agree with your data and Williams just put O Brien onto the Grimes role Sheehan has used him far more forwards. If Grimes were still here do you think we would be playing as much on the front foot? I'm not saying our upturn is all down to O Brien if it was just him Williams wouldn't have been sacked as your data shows the results from his first few games. It's hats off to Sheehan who has others have said uses a system to play to the players strengths rather than get players to play to a "rigid system
it's a combination...but O Brien makes a huge difference could you see Grimes offering us the same as he does under Sheehan?
I'm not so sure Sheehan would have been as successful with Grimes still here but that said let's not take anything away from Sheehan and what he has dome
came on against Plymouth....hardly saw the b all as neither Naughts or Darling passed to him when the option was there.....its been the same other times he has come on...its as though these "senior" players have no faith in him.
But reading Liams article it seems that things with Hellberg have stalled? He is not now coming across to Swansea for an interview/meeting.
Reading between the lines from the mist recent articles and certain posts I believe we will see Sheehan named as permanent manager/head coach soon. At the end of the day the club has had to look at alternatives just in case. Maybe Sheehan is happy just to be a no2?
But this whole thing has shades of deja vu heading for relegation we sack manager, appoint a replacement who steers us towards safety only for new owners to appoint their choice who serials us us back towards the trap door. Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself
I can see Cardiff once again escaping relegation by the skin of their teeth. Derby have a much tougher run in and with only one point separating them I suspect the scum will pick up the points .
Excellent win away to a top six side who haven't lost at home for 19 games plus another clean sheet...we can look forward to Championship football next season whilst them up the road will be playing in league one.
What I don't get is he had offers at and around the time things were looking bleak for Williams....he had no means of knowing he would be asked to stepping again or if a new head coach/manager was due especially with the new ownership. So I'm surprised he didn't take one of those.
For me yes he has done a great job but there are still a few questions marks. I don't understand selecting Cullen against the team of giants Derby were, bringing in Fulton when we are 3 nil up against a very poor Plymouth...Sheehans predecessor would have been pilloried for doing the same...and not subbing Vip for Cullen who would have converted those chances.
