Norwich City -v- Sheffield United (3pm)
Norwich City -v- Sheffield United (3pm)

The extended Christmas holiday is thanks to the claendar dates falling on a Saturday and Sunday. Don't get confused and think that the Tuesday fixture against Sheffield United start at 7:45pm. Nope, it is (I guess) Boxing Day Bank Holiday and that means a 3:00pm kick off.

So, now we are all likely to be there in time, let's talk about football.

Well, for a start, one time a favourite loan player, Ched Evans will be lining up against us. Memory brings to mind just how artful the young Welshman was at losing defenders, so Ward and Nelson will need to be on their games. Although he has only managed to score six goals so far this season.

Also, as well as Simon Lappin does at left back, he lacks the pace needed to silence Chedwyn, I feel. If ever there was a greater need for Adam Drury to return to the first team, this is looking like the one.

Although the Blades are just five points above the relegation zone, they are rankied third in the league for defending away from home. Fortunately for Norwich, Sheffield are ranked 23rd in attacking away from Bramall Lane.

Over the last 10 games Sheffield have won just 3, drawn 1 and lost 7. Of those seven defeats, four were at home and three on the road. They might be out for revenge, however, having lost by 3 goals to 2 at home to Hull City.

In wake of the Hull game, Blades' defender, Andy Taylor could miss out, having been substitutes because of injury. They also had Stephen Quinn substituted because of injury, although it might not be as serious as Taylor's is reported to be.

On the Norwich City side, a weather-enforced break means no new injuries to report and a little bit extra time for the likes of Zak Whitbread and Adam Drury to return to full fitness. Of course, the postponement does mean that Leon Barnett, instead of sitting out his last suspendd game, now sees this as the first, and QPR on Saturday to sit out.
