Southampton Open Contract Talks With Two First Team Members
Friday, 30th Oct 2026 16:18

Ryan Manning & Cameron Bragg flourished last season and have continued to do so this and are both out of contract next summer, now the club is said to be in talks to extend their contracts.

At the start of last season it would be fair to say that neither Ryan Manning or Cameron Bragg had set the club alight in the previous couple of seasons, Manning had suffered from being seen as Russell martin's man by the fans and had never really been appreciated and Bragg had had an aborted loan spell at lower league Crawley Town after playing just 6 games for them in League One.

But both suddenly burst into life last season, Manning by suddenly becoming the free kick specialist in the side and that made his confidence grow and he made 51 appearances for Saints last season, scoring eight goals and a number of assists, as the left-back produced his best campaign for the club since arriving from Swansea City in summer 2023.

Bragg got into the squad under Will Still and then had a true breakthrough performance in the demolishing of Charlton Athletic last November. He ended the season playing 16 League games plus another 5 in the FA cup run to the semi finals and has made 8 Championship appearances so far this season, albeit that one was cut short after being sent off against Pompey.

So it is good to hear that both are said to have been offered contract extensions, it is a squad game and we need two players in every position.
