Pats being investigated for playing with flat balls, making them easier to catch in the wet conditions.

Unlike them.

The game officials are supposed to check the 12 balls provided by the home team prior to kick-off. The balls, once checked are not to be tampered with by players or officials.
So were they checked and approved by officials? Did the Pats deliberately deflate them during the game and were the Pats advantaged, competitively, as a consequence?
Whilst every case should be treated on its own merits, the Patriots (and, in particular, Belichick) seem to have been accused of every trick in and out of the book to give them an unfair advantage over opponents, in recent years. They continue to announce changes in the eligibility of receivers so close to the snap that opponents have no time to adjust and have been charged with spying on opposition defensive play calls prior to games in the past.
That said, it is being argued "across the pond" that the Pats would have on this one if they'd used a Frisbee, so why would they need to cheat?
I think there will be a fine and sanctions relating to next year's draft imposed on New England following the Super Bowl, but there will not be a rematch, nor a disqualification.
This will, undoubtedly, affect the neutral and Brady's bunch will have fans against them, not as that will affect them much.
Beginning to doubt the all-American, butter wouldn't melt, local boy done good image and, for what its worth, believe the team would have benefited in the knowledge that the ball they were using on offense would be easier to catch and retain in possession.
Still looking forward to a close contest.
Will justice be done, or are the Pats a better all-round team than the 'Hawks, who probably couldn't believe their luck in capitalising on the Packers' implosion?
