Getting To St Mary's Saturday, 8th Sep 2007 18:58 St Mary's Stadium is situated in the Northam area of the City approximately 10 minutes walk from the City Centre and 15-20 minutes from Southampton Central train station. By Car From the M3 take the A33 into Southampton. Continue on the A33 until you reach the junction with the A3024 Northam Road and turn left onto this road towards Northam. Then turn right onto the B3038, Britannia Road for the stadium. Parking near the stadium is extremely limited, our advice is to park in the London Road area of the City, using the multi story car parks, from there its about a 15 minute walk to the ground. Alternatively there are several businesses etc who offer matchday parking a little nearer the Stadium including the Southampton Solent University on West Park Terrace. However unless you know the area it is not advisable to use these as they are difficult to find and may change from time to time. By Train Southampton Central Station is about 15 - 20 minutes walk from St Mary's Stadium, shuttle buses do run from outside the station, but if you prefer to walk, head towards the City Centre Clock on top of the hill above the station, pass that on your left hand side and keep going straight, the Stadium will come into view eventually on your right, signposts direct pedestrians. BY BUS Every match ticket for St Mary's has a ticket for money off a bus ticket, buses dont run past the ground although services run along Northam Road a five minute walk or to the foot of the Itchen Bridge again a five minute walk. By Plane With the advent of budget airlines its possible that some visiting supporters may arrive by plane, probably with Saints ex sponsors Flybe. Southampton International airport is about 5 miles from the City Centre, its well served by trains being on the main line from London and has its own station only two minutes walk from the terminal, the journey into Southampton takes between 5-10 minutes and there are frequent trains, usually about every 10 minutes. Far easier than taking a taxi, especially if you are staying a the Novotel or Ibis.
