So then...forum aside this site has become a little bit of a walking disaster over the last year (and more) as someone pointed out the other day the site rarely gets updated with news since the last writer got fed up of the abuse of doing so..!

Anyway, the good (!) news is that I have a couple of people prepared to write and I have some time that I can devote to it again. What I dont want to happen is the site to become a regurgitation of news elsewhere although news elsewhere can of course create opinion articles.

The question though is what do you - the good readers of Planet Swans (or as seems to be the one person with endless usernames) - want to see from the site going forward?

Thank you for your reply to my previous comment quite "interesting!"
Regarding this post above.

the last comment may be the reason things may have escalated to what is now happening.

Indeed what is the point of moderators who don't moderate ?
It's a bit like having a referee who doesn't referee (that said we've seen plenty of those in Swans games, so maybe they are basing their Moderator actions on that )

Well maybe the readers of Planet Swans should have a poll on how they want things moderated in future.

you may find the Government may have a say on how sites should be run.

With respect it's in the T & C's.
You don't buy a ticket for the Swans and get to choose which T & C's you want to abide by do you ?

When was Janet formed, 15 years ago maybe? It has always been the same, in terms of arguments, swearing, arranging for meet ups to punch each other. It will NEVER change. It's all part the charm of this place if you ask me.

Is swearing such a bad thing? I can't see it myself, but then that maybe because of the industry I've always worked in, or the area that i grew up in? Similar to what football used to be. On a Saturday, you'd go down the Vetch, have a few pints, scream, shout, swear, punch someone, get punched then go home again. The world is becoming a sterile old place, the fun is being taken away.

People are too easily offended these days.

I know what your saying.
I've worked in heavy industry, stood on the North Bank and away terraces, as well as travelling on coaches with drunken fans who use every word going.
The difference was they didn't use it directly at me.
For example in work all the boys would often agree that the boss was a miserable old fooker or whatever, but they would never say it to anyone's face, especially maliciously.
I certainly accept what your saying and much flies under the radar as banter, which is fine.
When it becomes personal, sorry then it has gone too far
Are you honestly saying you'd have just laughed it off as "charm of the place" if The Res had said all those disgusting things to you - and meant them ?
BTW apart from The Res the only other one who's sworn at me with any venom was Darran - and we all know what a windbag he is !

Sorry I am not in the habit of using such vile language on here or in real life, so whilst it may be deemed "part of culture" it doesn't make it acceptable.
No one is asking you to police it all the time - however it is expected that Mods take action when offence is highlighted to them
Of course you should modify the post, and warn the person to modify their use of language
I have not put anyone on ignore (as far as I know) and still leave the avenue open to have sensible debate or banter with The Res or anyone else.
As for give it right back, if I posted that someone was as he described in his post, I'd expect to be banned or at the very least see the post modified, as the Mods did with the Spurs one

It would be helpful if posters can copy and paste the post they are reporting.

Another problem we have as administrators of the site is we have to wade through pages trying to find it and who posted it. All we have is the link to the thread.

So if the thread is 20 pages long it’s an arduous task wading through that lot...most of the time people report abuse through error also.

So giving a page number would be handy and you’d probably get a quicker response.

Thank you.

Think the Mods need to get up to current moderating standards, there is a duty of care when being a moderator.

There are new laws coming into force and god help if these people were to read what moderators are typing on here.

The site has got worse lately, there is no coincidence in it happening either........it has been allowed to happen.

I too worked in industry and have done the same at games and away, and I am fully aware of Banter , enjoy giving it and taking it Banter that is, in my life I lead now.
But many years ago I , and many others were witness to bullying and intimidation at the workplace, Ive seen the result of it and it s consequence, and learnt you cannot ignore it!
Regretted later not doing anything, is that ok with everyone?

Id tell him to f*ck off and then get on with it, I can't see the problem myself.

Seriously, i know everyone is different but come on, if you don;t want to get into a slanging match with someone, then just ignore it?

Think that is the only option on here as it stands. Let the animals carry on running around the place free.

As far as i can work out, it is a case of, see what they want to see when they want to see it.

It's never been any different though, it's not like it's descended into some awful place, it's always been awful. But it's our awful.

There's loads of other forums out there, most people use Twitter for their football fix these days anyway, this is more of a social club.

Let's be honest here Daps. You are the one that was trolling and had multiple accounts.

I don't understand your apparent position of moral high ground. This has all come into the spotlight due to your own behaviour on here.
