A lot of these are new to me but I must admit to having used a couple of them.

Doing a Steve Redgrave - taking a lot of strokes.

Learning to read clusters is not something your eyes do naturally. It takes constant practice.

I played a bit of golf in my younger days.

At the time, I found the membership fees a bit expensive and payed green fees every week, getting up at ridiculous o'clock on a Sunday morning.

I really enjoyed playing but after a while, say 5 years maximum, my game started to go backwards, very frustrating. I realised that to improve (or even remain at the same level) I would have to put more time into it, playing and practising more that once or maybe twice a week. I just didn't have the time.

And so ended my golf career.

Played a few courses round the Fylde, mainly Stanley Park, and even went to one at Chorley a few times - That one was ok. The part of Stanley Park over the road was good, the rest less so.
