MOT cancelled 08:41 - Mar 30 with 364 views

I’ve just received a call from the local testing station to tell me they are closing and won’t be doing my MOT. It’s a just a small two man show that tests cars with no garage facility. The man sounded like he was almost in tears and said he doubts they’ll be re-opening. Felt really sorry for him as unlike me where work has sorted out the stand down on govt. pay, he’s on his own to sort out what he is and isn’t entitled to which must be a nightmare. Also if nobody is having an MOT until September then in 2021 there’s going to be a knock on with nobody needing an MOT from the dead months of March to September 2020.

This is just one example of one successful business that is likely to fail because of this crisis. People are talking about a recession, and I think that’s 100% nailed on, but I reckon it’s going to be a lot worse than most people expect.
