l think you will find that the reason the death toll is so high now, is simply because one of the new directives for issuing a death certificate states that " Covid 19 can be put on the death certificate on clinical balance of probabilities, without testing".

South Korea has an educated young healthy population that is very compliant to government instruction..the wearing of masks in common place throughout the year and they are indeed to be applauded for their response to this virus.
The Germans have as ever been very efficient and their citizens are very compliant to federal instructions...they have recorded only deaths directly as a result of the virus..and not just with.
The uk is full of know it all (using the power of hindsight) agitators that really serve no purpose other than to cause division and misery.
Its truly amazing that everyone that has died in the past few weeks have all died of covid-19 and our natural and premature death rate has decided to take a break whilst this virus is in effect.
The two examples you use are indeed worthy of mention and are to be applauded for their actions.
We should of banned all travel into and out of the country in late February and not repatriated anyone until the pandemic was over.
We should of had billions of pounds worth of ppe in storage.
We should of fitted every single person with tracking and tracing apps.
We should of ignored the imperial college and Cambridge university advice.
And if we had done any of the above people would be moaning about the removal of freedoms and big brother is using this to strip our freedoms.
Why cant people return home from China, Pakistan, Italy, spain...its disgusting behaviour from this draconian government
Why do we have billions of pounds worth of ppe when our European neighbour's have none...we should be ashamed stock piling so much and denying Italy and Spain essential supplies

Some really great points Mr Happy I fully agree with you. If you’ve already had a large scale epidemic in recent history then you’re in a good place to be fully prepared for the next one. It simply highlights how advanced our Asian friends are than us. The only way to ensure we are fully prepared for the next epidemic to make sure we have more of them. | |

Of and with are very different outcomes...
So when the poorly departed's families engage with their life insurance provider and they are informed that the policy excludes them due to no covid 19 cover/pandemic cover, they are unable to receive the financial aid the policy would of covered for their real cause OF death.
So labeling all deaths with covid present but not the cause is A misleading....and B it is skewing the real death rate and that is not acceptable in this or any instance. | |

You sound rather pleased with yourself, the thing is it's years of forced austerity, cut backs on NHS and social care funding that has caused us to be ill prepared for this event. You mention London and NYC but what about Berlin or Seoul population 9 million 256 deaths in the whole of the country of 58 million they say we shouldn't compare but you have say they would say that |

Underfunding is underfunding. Just as the pandemic started my wife found out that the mental health care course she was on was being cut due to lack of funding. There are plenty of other stories about cut backs over the last few years. Stockpiling of PPE was cut back by 60% before the outbreak in order to save money. |  | | |
