I don't but I've not bought a paper regularly for about 15 years , used to read the free Metro or Evening Standard when commuting but that's about it. My favourite headline of all time was prob this from 1990 , it rolls off the tongue.

Just watched the first one. We all know about the Kingmakers in the Middle Ages so it is incredible that this sort of thing still goes on in this day and age. That the unelected Murdoch had and still has so much power over governments is beyond ridiculous in the 21st century. It isn’t taking back power from the EA we should worry about, it is taking back power from an Australian. It is amazing that none of the Murdochs faced a jail term and that they effectively got away with it. The cynical move to close the a News of the World and throw many long term loyal employees under the bus and then launch The Sun on Sunday was typical Murdoch.
People worry that Gao is a right and proper person to run a football club but they should worry about Murdoch being a right and proper owner of such a huge media empire that still has huge influence on its readers.
My respect for John Major has grown since I learned that he ignored Murdoch’s threat about losing his support if he didn’t change his policies on Europe | | | |

Elizabeth had a backbone all along and bailed years ago. Many negatives though. The power to influence voters across a number of countries should never be in the hands of one man.
We heard how he was instrumental in the elections here over the last 40 years. We heard how he was responsible for winning the Brexit vote and putting Trump on the throne. Oh the irony. We were told we were taking back power from the EU but all the way along we were being played by an Australian who was/is only concerned with doing what is best for himself.
Interesting that a former Sun editor believes that Brexit will damage Britain forever. Interesting too that Andrew Neil talked about the extent of his political power in the UK, US and Australia but how no one in Brussels takes any notice of him. Little wonder he put so much effort into the Brexit campaign.

Yes I forgot that! That was the reason that he fell out with James. His response to the questions about climate change said it all about how he only cares for himself. Think of the good he could have done for the planet with all the power that he amassed. Instead he will be remembered for looking after his own interests and destroying people lives through his murky media empire.
Dennis Porter put things into perspective when he told the story about calling his pancreatic cancer Rupert and saying that he wanted to shoot the bugger. His point about bringing society down to the gutter through his newspapers was spot on. No one dumbs down like Murdoch. | | | |
