Totally supportive of this, IF there is a big effort and it is a one off - not every match, not every week - make it easy to text a £5 donation (or whatever) to Shelter and go all out. Otherwise it'll be pointless gesturing. |  |

If the PL accept every request to support protests, charities and good causes, every week going to the match will become like attending student demos. Pointless tokenism. Focussing on racial discrimination, which is pertinent both in football, wider sport (al la Yorkshire CC) and in our society generally is valid and to be endorsed.
At the end of the day, we watch because it is football, and too many side issues leeching off the game will not help football or their own cause. |  | | |
