Lyn Phillips ex Police Football Liaison officer sadly passed away yesterday after a long illness.
He was known and respected by so many football fans and colleagues throughout the country.
He did a first class job.
RIP Lyn.

I knew Lyn very well over a period of time in the nineties and early 2000’s before he retired. that’s very sad. Didn’t have long enough to enjoy his retirement. Lovely man. RIP.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

That’s very sad news Lyn was a great character who so successfully helped to ‘bridge the gap’ and develop a rapport with us fans at a time when things were far more hostile and volatile in the football days gone by.
RIP Lyn from the Jack Army 💪💪💪

RIP Lyn

I was one of the valley boys on the other side, Lynn obviously knew us , and strangely a respect, maybe not a full trust
But also watched out for us ,
Strange but true
So respect form the valley boys and condolences to his family

A begrudging respect for Lyn I got into some bother in a previous life and got nicked but he didn't request a football banning order for me. I also seen him deal swiftly with a Luton fan away who tried to take the p1ss out of his accent

There was talk of him writing a hooligan book from a policeman's point of view which obviously never happened.

RIP

I always thought that was a great idea and we spoke on a few occasions about that, but as you say it never came off. And over the years the idea was just forgotten.

Sorry, don't know how to insert an image (Lyn 2nd left back row)

Decent rugby player and really nice guy, loved the Swans - great company, loved a beer.

Worked with his Mrs. (Lynne) years ago, lovely lady.

RIP - YJB

Similar experiences

Think Lynn had a few bit of intel from somebody who used to run buses (those who were about will know who I mean).

Seemed a decent bloke.

Condolences RIP.

I recall you saying it would be a great idea, didn’t he hold off because he was at the club ?

OK I've changed it.

Yes, that was part of the thought process as he had just retired. We had two interested publishers. Not Martin King who I think is now dead but some serious interest away from those sort of books.

Still, lovely guy, very sad.
