I’ve got a twin ‘gold’ and ‘platinum’ set of badges commemorating the 1962 double-legged final v Norwich. There were only 50 of each issued; don’t suppose anybody would have a clue how much they’d be worth? I can’t seem to find any other sets for sale anywhere… |  |

I picked them up on eBay years ago, used to collect all manner of Dale badges, including the original supporters club badge with the penguin mascot and badges of each individual member of the promotion team from 68/69.
Never bought them for any reason other than collecting but I guess there’s a little collection of club history there now. | |

The ‘original’ supporters club badge had a christmas tree on it. It was back in the 1960s in our black and white days. The penguin badge was from the 1980s.
The league cup final badges were not produced at the time of the games but later, I think by a bloke in London. I used to buy stuff off him at games at the old Wembley and he had adverts in footy mags in the pre WWW. days. Cant remember his name now but it was something very English like John Smith. He produced badges for each cup final going back years. You certainly dont see the ones you mention around.

Cheers Pioneer, great to know the provenance of various items! The badges of the promotion squad are modern in design, I’d say produced decades after. Will dig around to see if I have a Christmas tree supporters club badge… | |

We were in Sorento a few years ago & one of the waiters noticed I wore nothing but Dale shirts / training tops etc.. he asked me if I could spare one which I did because he was a nice guy & made a fuss of my son.
We were all inclusive but for the rest of the week he gave us branded drinks which were not included… great trade |  |
