Likely to be 2nd or third choice cb until injuries are sorted, but surely will then move to 4th choice?

This lad looks like he is ready to step up. He is better than our 4th choice so it strengthens the group mate. I think playing the smaller teams didnt wake us up . There is massive gaps in our squad.

Burgess and Cabango I presume are first choice and we have bought Santos.
Unless either Burgess or Cabango are injured, Cabango is leaving or has a long term injury then he will be at best a bench warmer instead of a player we have signed.
Something doesn't quite add up with this signing.
As for Oba that is such a big no.

Mybe Bens injury is either longer than what we think, or theres a chance it may happen again (my main thought) He looks as if hes at the stage to step up, but its a Tosh gamble i.e dudley.
Theres many a questions appearing with a week to go, as you say something atm doesnt add up.

Agree that Cabango & Burgess will start as first choice and as experienced Championship level CBs so they should be - if the WH lad comes to us I’d see him as first choice cover, maybe 3 CB option with Santos as injury & ‘under the cosh’ extra CB option.

If he's injury prone we should have learnt our lessons by now and stayed away from him.

Out of the 5 we are in the box seat and if the only club interested in buying him are Aberdeen then we can Trump them too. If he can cover RB, CB and MF a no brainer that will give us some of the depth we’ve been craving.

Are we going to have the same problem with Santos as we did with Pedersen and if Cabango calf injury is a niggling there is a good chance of him only able to play one game a week and even then 90mins might be a push so that needs to be resolved, Parker struggled with the big Lorient centre forward but maybe Burgress should have taken the responsibility of marking him, happy to give Parker time to develop but we still need more options in the centrehalf position to be able to cope with the demands of the Championship and additional height in our back line seems required. If we can acquire a quick versatile young player then maybe a permanent signing would be advisable unless there is someone in our younger squads who could make the step up.

Hold your horses! He may need to be brought in gently, couple of minutes at a time. Start him in the U18s then the U21s and let’s see what he’s made of.
