There's only a cigarette paper between the truly far left and far right. Both terms that get mentioned too much. Both are a tiny minority.

Corbyn being in charge of Labour was a catastrophe. Especially at the time he was

Corbyn is a prime example of what is wrong with modern politics. I’ve got no doubt his heart is in the right place and his constituents and supporters speak very highly of him. And he’s got through 40 odd years without being embroiled in any major scandal or caught with his hands in the till. He’s probably one of the better ones. His only problem is he’s fundamentally a bit thick.

And this fundamental thickness permeates through parliament. When you look back at the leaders of the past, Thatcher, Michael foot, Atlee, Bevan, Wilson, Churchill, Enoch Powell etc. you can utterly detest their politics or personality or beliefs but I don’t think there’s any debate that they were all highly intelligent.

Somewhere along the line we swapped that thoughtfulness and intelligence for flashy suits and highly stage managed goons who will essentially just stand there and blindly read whatever the hell it is someone else has put on the teleprompter.

I can’t think of a single individual in modern politics that even come close to the genuine intellectual heavyweights of the past. And I think this is where we go wrong. Soundbites over substance.

Poll: We all dream of a managerial team of Alan Tates?

Great post, none of todays so called "politicians" come nowhere near the quality of those from the past, this lot lack common sense and clearly lack political intelligence.

Starmer being a classic example the fact he's said that his political journey is over says everything about the bloke, a classic case of in it for himself .

Corbyn has sided with altogether too many murderous bastards over the years for his heart to be in any place remotely adjacent to "right".

He's your bog standard Communist. Given enough power he'd order just as many deaths as any Soviet apparatchik did.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Have to say I agree with every word of that
He seems to be deliberately perverse and support anyone this country is “ at war with”
His cuddling up to Marty and Gerry whilst our folk were being shoved into body bags still stinks in the nostrils of many
Now IRA have called a truce and Sein Fein a party of peace it’s Hamas turn to feel the love
Despicable beyond words
Idolised however by his working class supporters
