I know two who's next of kin had to pay IHT. One elderly who had an expensive property. One divorced in his 50s who died suddenly and had a business. Both in Wales. |
I do feel like the property one is a bit of a leveller. So many of the properties in the south and London hit threshold purely by luck of timing of purchase - not through being ‘earned’.

Agree with this 100%. I saw a stat once that for every year over 70 you age double that of a year under 70. I wouldn't disagree unless one of us passes that will probably be the case for us. | | | |
