My pension was changed from final salary to career average in 2015. My state pension age is now 68.

I think there’s a difference between no annual increments and realigning the triple lock which is way over the working person wage increase rate.

It’s not ire.

It’s circumstance.

It’s nor any age groups fault and I feel sorry for pensioners that are struggling and there are many awful stories.

The fact remains the richest age group overall in the UK today are pensioners. Add to this if you’re 25 you have quite a few disadvantages to this who were that age even 30 years ago,

Fortunately the triple lock has meant the rate you pension has grown has been substantially greater than the wages of those youngsters who also contribute.

Those youngsters who will probably get a considerably worse deal when the hit pension age.

I've no issue with those for whom that is the case, WR. They shouldn't have the rug pulled from under them.

We do need future reform though and I think that starts with looking at the Triple lock. Its oush costs down to those who have to fund it at an unfair rate IMO.

It's not a blame thing, it's circumstance.

I don't think anyoune could have seen the falling birth rate and the effect it has.

Things are hard for young people now and again I'm not blaming but the fact remains that it's them that are having to pay for pensions.

I don't see a lot of sypathy for those hard working yougsters and there are plenty of them.

It's important we do.

The welfare bill is about £330 billion. Pensions acount for about half of that. I konw you don't like it put that way but it is a fact. I've never suggested it being taken away but it does need reform.

£4 billion out of £165 billion is more significant than it is out of £330 billion.

I really don't.

I just feel it needs to be made clear that the state pension isn't a savings scheme that you get out relates to what you've paid in.

It also needs recogntion that the aging population puts real pressure on the system.

I think in this instance donations will rise for at least a while.

I’d say most reasonable people (and by that I mean most people) will see the doxxing of individual volunteers for what it is.

People refuse to see pensions as a benefit even though it takes up about half of the welfare bill.

Donations rose after the Portsmouth incident.

This stuff is a dream for bad actors. Two volunteers had their identity shared on social media and were called traitors.

What’ll happen is those who shared the info will have a visit from the police. Then whether charged or not they’ll end up as a statistic that the likes of Elon Musk will use to ‘prove’ there’s no free speech in the UK.

I believe you always have to think about them in their era and assume that would translate to the modern day.

The one I always think of is Gareth Edwards. A giant of the game in the 70s but imagine him now in the professional era with the current access to training, strength and conditioning, nutrition etc.

He’d rule the field.

Not many of those around any more although probably more than clergy promoting gender ideology.

That gender/non binary thing gets blown up by those who continually use the word wok as a proxy for ‘things I don’t like’.

Fortunately, it’s seems to me that it’s getting easier to have the discussions without using outdated and meaningless terms as insults.
