Yes having a throughput of players who make the professional grade is a positive sign and as you say also a potential source of income

Cullen wanted to leave after speaking with Matos, Congreve, Cooper and Wilson simply don’t have the quality at the moment for a tilt at promotion. Harsh yes, but there has to be big decisions made.

Totally agree, I am beginning to wonder will we attract the best Welsh young talent in the future as hardly anyone our academy have broken through to the first team of late as regulars,Cabango I think being the last and he has his critics.
Porridge talked of getting back to Cat A whats the point.
I know situations have been different but if parents look up the road the Cardiff team has many academy players in their first team this may well influence parents to which academy their child attends

Cardiff academy has outperformed Swansea in rev not years and not a category 1;

Crew Leeds, Bianchieri Man Utd, Benjamin Wolves and this week 16 yo Doncwiz to A to Arsenal. The Colwill brother Isaak Davies, Kiakpo are all Welsh internationals. They should have been at Landlord.

I believe Swansea are reportedly reinstating Cat 1.

If Swansea get £2-3m for Congreve, Margetson, Wilson Morgan and co it covers va big chunk of the running costs. A present the Cat 2: is producing a few £1m league 1 footballers. Abdullai, Al Hamadi Joseph were others.

Remember Swansea is "community club". It would not be acceptable for the best academy in Wales to be funded by a Malaysian billionaire not a a kart fan owned club. The SCST should sponsor the academy shirts for £50-70k p.a. If they did they might get some new members and be seen as sometimes more than irrelevant.

The academy is outside of SCR and the owners can continue to spend the required costs. Profit on academy sales (within certain provisions) can be included in the club accounts, its a way around SCR. Its more important for any sponsorship to be channelled into the club to boost income, but there are tight rules on shareholders doing this.

If you need clarification on any points go tonight and ask the question.
