| Southampton v Swansea City : Match thread on 20:30 - Sep 8 by union_jack | We are playing such a high line defensively allowing them time to run onto through balls. One was given o/s but may not have been. |
The way we are playing is back to faffing about stroking the ball aimlessly then being caught cold by a well drilled physical team It’s back to earth but nice while it lasted We need to get this big Dutch loaner on asap

| Southampton v Swansea City : Match thread on 20:35 - Sep 8 with 2086 views | DoubeDoube | Why does Matos have to tinker so much? Whats the back four done wrongly to justify Cobango coming straight back in? | | | |
| Southampton v Swansea City : Match thread on 20:36 - Sep 8 with 2067 views | union_jack | Scoreline not flattering them. We are trying to thread needles in the box which are getting easily closed down. The wingers in both sides are giving Lissah and Tymon nightmares. We look disjointed and getting in each other’s way. The bounce of the ball has gone mostly Southampton’s way but that’s not an excuse. They’re better than us without doubt. | |

| Southampton v Swansea City : Match thread on 20:38 - Sep 8 with 2020 views | Whiterockin | Has to be Eom for Yeo at halftime, being right footed he cuts in every time and clutters the area. Eom will vary it and the full back doesn't know what he will do. Eustaquio for either Fulton or Stamenic early also. | | | |

Maybe I'm too emotional this evening, but I dare say it, but I think we are going to see the Vip of the first season this year. He doesn't fit into Matos fast pace style while Idah does. [Post edited 8 Sep 20:40]

I can understand them playing a high line at the start, but surely they could see that wasn't working against their pace and especially when we were opened up so easily for the first goal, Saints in that last 5mins playing 5 at the back 6 even when we were pushing just outside their area giving us little if any room. We looked open at the back against Watford as well, luckily for us they didn't have the wherewithal that Saints are showing. Not sure if we can change much in the way we played first half, we need to be tighter at the back and not give them the space they had in first half, easier said than done though.
| Southampton v Swansea City : Match thread on 20:42 - Sep 8 with 1907 views | Legend83 | It's poor all round really. All the commentary about clean sheets then Matos brings Cabango back (presumably because he feels he has to select the captain if fit) and we just look so shaky. Where has the composed back four gone? Also, I never want try to make conclusions so early but having seen him a few times now, I'm not sure what the question was that 'Elijah Just" was the answer... | | | |

Strikers thrive on confidence, I'm hoping that if Vipotnik gets one he will be up and running, I just hope its soon. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Not seeing a lot in Yeo so far, early days I know. Can say similar about Just as well. [Post edited 8 Sep 20:45]

I think Yeo has been ok, he’s just running into brick walls. I’d like to see more running off the ball in tighter situations, the options aren’t there. Is that down to tiredness or something else? By the way, if Matos has made a mistake tonight he’s allowed one. He gets it right far more than wrong. He’ll know what to do even if that’s not tonight.

Stamenic or Fulton haven't really been at it either, they should have been support Just more. We looking a little better and we got a penalty

Playing better this half That was a foul by Larin then surely he just charged into Widell [Post edited 8 Sep 21:13]
