Yoshida was disgustingly bad, Vestergaard was bad, Danso was bad. Those 3 should be let go. Smallbone and Vokins did okay. They were enthusiastic, but neither will set the premier league alight, they can go. Boufal couldn't be bothered, annoyingly. Long was Long. Gunn was okay. Ward-Prowse was by far the best player on the pitch. Adams ... sigh. I had high hopes that he'd get one or two in this, but he got nothing and didn't shine. The guy has been damaged and I think a loan for the second half out the season wouldn't be a bad thing for him to start scoring again.

They drew 1-1 here in a Premier League game at the end of last season and they had the same attack today as when they beat Nottingham Forest a couple of weeks ago. This is the sort of Championship side, like Derby last year, we've often been unable to beat in past cup games. Early round cup games are often turgid affairs. Nobody wants to exert themselves too much, unless it's a local derby. Remember the awful League Cup game v Sunderland which started our run to the final? I really don't think you can write off young players like Smallbone and Vokins or even more experienced ones like Yoshida on how they played in a 2-0 victory, where our defence kept Huddersfield down to just 1 shot on target.. If Ward Prowse was the best player on the pitch then we are in the s***e. Technically you may be right because all 22 were s***e plus subs. I couldn't help noticing that the 2 academy lads were able to kick a ball towards the target (and score) yet when the Captain, dead ball specialist and best all round player only managed an ugly scuffed attempt when he was in front of goal, and failed with all his dead balls. Apart from casually jogging around aimlessly what did Ward Prowse actually do to impress you so much?

Honestly? He was everywhere, silently covering up for inefficiencies around the pitch. Did you not notice his runs back and forth to cover where the gaps where? Or his tackles? Or his passing? I'm not sure why you have such beef with him (can you explain?) but he was the best player.
