Cracking goal. It's excellent at Eastleigh. I'm going to more and more of their games when Saints arn't playing and likely to get a season ticket there next season instead of Saints. You get treated better. The players talk to you after the game in the clubhouse, you get cheap tickets, no security from Millwall, no 10 minute intrusive body searches, no taking away your flask or bottle top, no players diving around and cheating, proper loyal fans, it's great there. Unfortunately, Eastleigh lost at Barnet today.

I agree with you. Now that transport in this country is such a mess, it's easier to get to, just off the M27, much cheaper, and the setup there is just better. They have home fans behind both goals and away fans know their place: in the corner. It reminds me a bit of when I started watching Saints in the 1960s. There are groups of teenage fans together singing; not family stands where youngsters sit quietly, accompanied by a parent.

I'm still, first and foremost, a Saints fan and will be at St Mary's again for the Chelsea game but even though I don't really support Eastleigh, I come away from games at the Silverlake with a smile on my face, thinking that was money well spent. In contrast, my daughter asked me after the Man United game, 'Did you enjoy it?' And I found that I really couldn't answer, yes.

I know what you mean. Same as you, Saints are in my blood and always will be, but whether it's the poor performance on the pitch, the authorative treatment received from stewards (but only towards home fans) the high PL prices, the lack of response from an email, referees / VAR favouring the top clubs, a dead end uncompetitive league, plastics spoiling the experience in the home end, I'm fed up of it.

I have been to a few Eastleigh games before but when I watched Saints B v Eastleigh in the summer, I had a drink in the new clubhouse and asked the bar staff about it. I swiftly got shown around the new clubhouse / supporters club, out the back, the offices etc (I wasn't wearing anything Saints so they assumed I was Eastleigh fan) and the guy said "this is your club, you can see what you like". I was bowled over by that. After the game, I had a drink in the bar and the players, plus Lee Bradbury came in, had a friendly chat with the Eastleigh supporters, signed autographs. It was such a refreshing change from the PL.

I decided after that to go to the Eastleigh v Dagenham and Redbridge game as Saints weren't playing. Got a ticket on my phone and the people I went with, easy as you like, took in my bag, a flask of tea, a few other things, and i went in with no hassle whatsoever. Chatted to a few away fans before the game, had a pint and just really enjoyed the experience. Supported Eastleigh at the game, but wasn't stressed, just enjoyed the game. I'm seriously considering going there instead next season. They treat you like proper supporters who matter.

But you will probably get that treatment at any game in the lower divisions so Eastleigh being your (our) local club then there's your answer if you really are that pi55ed off with SMS and all that goes with the Prem League

But I'm afraid that won't stop me going to see my club as it is the best league in the world and we know what to expect re the favourtism shown to the big boys, and it seems from what you have said, the issues in the Itchen (I don't have any issues that way where we sit)

I like to see Eastleigh doing well and always look for their results but couldn't swap my Saints ST for an Eastleigh one

Thick and thin and all that
