Well credit where's it due Nick you are right, a win is a win and that was very important at the end. However if you are only ever interested in the result not a performance then you might as well stay home every week and watch for the result on Soccer Saturday. It wasn't a great performance from anyone. First half was ok but second half we were clinging on for long periods. You are right to say that maybe it shows the team are fighting for Ralph. Maybe they are just decent professionals who try hard to win the game for themselves. Who knows but there was definitely spirit. What wasn't so good was that Bournemouth took control and for long periods came at us in waves and we just defended deep, hacked the ball away, and back it came time and time again. How they didn't score then is a mystery. Yes this shows some decent qualities, tenacity, heart, togetherness etc. But also we were playing Bournemouth. Probably the smallest team in the league. They deserve respect but they are not Arsenal or City. We should expect to be more in the game than we were. I also find it interesting that even you mentioned that there isn't a quick fix. By that the inference is that we are broken. That is the critical point. Why are we broken in the first place?? | |
