The PL is a TV programme which massively successful around the world so why is this surprising?

The wishes of the studio audience who watch it being filmed aren't of any consequence.

After lockdown showed the noise generated by the audience could be exactly replicated by using the sounds effects from a computer game and empty seats could be covered with colourful banners I'm surprised they didn't just continue filming behind locked doors.

Lots of TV quizzes, etc which used to tape in front of an audience have done exactly this.

Will be great from a cost perspective as no need to pay for policing, etc and will greatly benefit the environment by cutting down on audience travel to the game.
