The half-time talk was embarrassing. After Wednesday night, Jones deserves a bit of slack surely. I think we have a good intelligent manager who is really up for the challenge. The players love him, even the media are starting to see him as box office. It's just some of the fans who seem determined to want to see him fail. Let's get behind the guy. We never win at Goodison, no team has ever not conceded a shot against City, let alone a goal! I'm looking forward to seeing how we progress under him over the next few months.

The problem is, Saints fans have had the most torrid time over the last few years. 90th in the football league table for results, worst home record for decades, one home win every 6 months, best players sold, the embarrassing 9 nils, the Itchen North etc etc. The club lost the trust of the fans. Jones has unfortunately been a scapegoat and the Forest game was the final straw. Fans had enough of the constant misery, dreadful defeats and just snapped. Jones probably unfairly, got the brunt of it. Such was the belief that the club had f@cked up again, with another bad decision.

It will take time for the fans to start feeling optimistic and get fully behind the club again but it will happen if they get results. Jones has just come in at an unfortunate time when the fans' mood was so low. He has been treated harshly, but it's because the fans had just had enough. They wanted to see an impact, a better performance, a manager bounce and it didn't happen. Panic set in because we were also bottom of the league.

It's all f@cking unfortunate, but it's happened, time to move on and get behind the club and manager. Jones is growing on me a lot, and let's hope he does well.

Poll: After Nick's revelation, would you welcome back Danny Ings?

That s a pretty fair summation. If he proves to be an inspired choice by the board, then we’ll andgood, but as others have stated elsewhere, the jury is still out.
