RIP Tom Verlaine (Television)... 13:55 - Jan 29 with 546 views1885_SFC

Guitarist Tom Verlaine, who rose to fame in the 1970's New York punk scene as the frontman of rock band Television, has died at the age of 73 after a short illness.

Gutted about his death. When I was at sea in the late 70's and all through the 80's - Marquee Moon was one of those albums that I just never got sick of playing onboard ship. I must have played it thousands & thousands of times and that's no lie. Loved that album & still do to this day.

RIP Mr Verlaine & thanks for the memories sir ...

I had a 12 inch single of their on red vinyl or something like that , I did like Television, but to be honest they weren't a band I truly got into much.

Sad to hear of Tom Verlaine's death he was truly a great guitarist and big influence on many

So sad to hear.
Marquee Moon 12 inch, single, long edition with its long rambling guitar, was my go to song after coming home from the pub, song of choice and still often played even now.
I will certainly give the whole LP a listening to today. RIP.
