| Ballard banging in the goals for Leyton Orient 18:55 - Jan 8 with 998 views | StRipper | Aside from our own problems in attack, I see that one of our rejects - who we never gave a real first team chance to - is having some success. Great that Dom Ballard's move is working out for him, and he is still only 20 years old. 11 goals and 2 assists in just 18 starts. Transfermarket now values him at £800k, which is £300k more than we sold him for. LO are only one league below us, down in 20th. So maybe even more impressive that he's managing to find goals in a struggling team. I wonder if we should at least give our current under 21 strikers a sniff at 1st team action? Quite possibly true. But if we don't give these lads a chance, we'll never find out. I see that Ballard got a hat trick against Doncaster too, in which case should give us some optimism for the weekend!?! | | | |

How to become a Saints legend part 1. Play a dozen or so games with no one suggesting that you are good enough for the League we are in, then leave for a League 1 club or a club in a minor European League and score handful of goals and before you know it you are being touted as a great player by those who previously ridiculed you

Nick you aren’t half in full bollix mode at the moment. Is it a clickbait thing. My recollection of Dom Ballard ,is that the fans wanted him to be given a chance. He was certainly never ridiculed. He’s another player like Broja that you only ever put down. Had Ballard scored in the man city youth team like he did ours, we would been blindly giving them another 10mill.

Youve proved my point, scoring shed loads in the academy leagues is no guarantee of success in the Championship and above, Jimmy Jay Morgan a contemporary of Ballards, sold to Chelsea at the same time as Dibling, for about £3.5 million plus add ons etc. Started this season valued at about £70k although with 4 goals for Peterborough it is now risen to £150k He was meant to be be much better than Ballard. I liked Ballard, im glad he has done well at Orient, but lets be honest we weren't creaming over him when he was failing to score at Blackpool & Cambridge who were hardly biting off our hands to sign him

I’ve proved nothing of the sort. I highlighted that we will spend a lot of money on Man City academy graduates rather than give our own ago. Ballard as you know has had 2 serious injuries and back now. There were plenty on here not wanting him sold in the summer. You are wrong on Morgan. Ballard was the great hope, the Moment he could sign a contract he was given a flat in ocean village and a big fat contract.

| Ballard banging in the goals for Leyton Orient on 10:07 - Jan 12 with 204 views | dirk_doone | He scored again, against Cardiff, at the weekend. I can see him at least making it to Championship level. That Cardiff team will be little changed next season when they are in the Championship. I'm not saying he will be the next Harry Kane, because he obviously won't be, but, to put things in perspective, Kane didn't exactly set the world on fire when he was sent out on loan by Spurs, scoring 5 goals in 18 League One appearances for Leyton Orient. It's not hard to envisage Ballard being a more prolific scorer than Archer at Championship level. Orient fans already think that he is destined for a bigger club: Jan 10, 2026 at 5:20pm buffalobill said: Ballard is potentially the most valuable player we have on our books.
