Just a fact to share 06:51 - Dec 21 with 769 viewssaint22

For all those here on think voting for BoJo and his clowns was a good idea as this country stumbles from one disaster to another

The new strain of the disease was first detected in September. The government has been aware of it since October, but resisted pleas from scientists and doctors for further lockdown measures.

I believe 370 new strains were detected in September. Only the understanding of this particular strain was understood last week.

They knew it was going to mutate and have said so from the start. The issue isn’t the mutation of the virus. Any sane person new a second wave was due when the winter set in yet where was the plan to deal with it? The tier system clearly wasn’t working. What happened to the world beating track and trace system? Why tell people they could have 5 days together over Christmas when it was obviously going to cause a spike in infection rates in the New Year? Starmer has been talking sense throughout this but it is almost like Johnson is deliberately doing the opposite out of spite - then ends up doing exactly what Starmer has been saying in the end, only too late. Johnson has made one mistake after another and still shows no signs of learning from them.
Long overdue, and he won’t do it, but he really needs to set up a cross party committee to deal with this pandemic and start listening to those with some common sense.

Starmer talking sense. Unless of course, when it is managing Wales, which has been an abject failure.

Starmer telling us to close schools. Unless of course, that is the private school where his kids go, which is being backed to NOT close

Starmer warns of economic consequences of lockdown, yet wants total lockdown for all

Starmer warns of kids going hungry. Of course, those going hungry are in Labour controlled areas.

Starmer tells us of cash for cronies. Then fails to tell us that local LABOUR authorities are doing the exact same thing.

As said, this virus is harmless to almost the entire population. Why should people who are perfectly safe, have their lives destroyed?

Has Starmer said that his kids school should stay open?
As for the way you constantly play down the effects of this pandemic, tell that to the near million people worldwide who have lost loved ones to it.
How do you know who is perfectly safe? You don’t until someone has caught it and survived. You also ignore the fact of the long term side effects that many suffer.
You have slagged Starmer off but not a peep about Johnson who, according to you , has over reacted throughout the pandemic as the vast majority of us have nothing to worry about.

The way Tory cronies haver profiteered from this crisis is off the scale of pretty much anything we have seen before. Even the New York Times has been reporting on it.

When the full story comes out it's going to make the odd duck house look like very small beer.

And perhaps it wouldn't be so bad if the cronies had not so royally screwed up on so many of the multi-million pound contracts they were back handed.

You do realise that most mutations in virus’s are more mild then the original strain ? This is the virus trying to keep the victim alive longer and hence spread more. Do out of the 370 strains mentioned in September most would be milder , you really do put your politics over sense and science 🧬.

Trust no one in a circus.

So why are the Government taking more stringent measures and other countries closed their borders to us if the mutated version is no big deal? 500 people are still dying every day here.

Because the evidence and science has only just been published , if you closed down everytime a new strain emerged then we would never ever come out of lockdown.

Your anger and hate of the government is obvious but you should not mix that hatred with your knowledge of science and economic issues , you just look foolish when you do as its obvious your only stance is boris slagging not whats good for the country.

Also what happened to our sense of humour. The 'frog' debate with 1885 is funny to behold. 'Do we not eat cheese in this country' LMFAO !!!!

The deaths per day mean they’d tested positive at some point in 28 days leading up to the death.

It’s in no way a representation of the numbers that Covid is actually killing, as these deaths could be from another cause.
