Bazunu looked vastly superior to McCarthy yesterday. If only we could have got rid of McCarthy in the summer, I'd feel much more confident about this season. We can only hope that a miracle happens and that Ralph finally sees what everybody else can see: that McCarthy is a terrible goalkeeper who should never be playing at this level. |  |

Only a friendly, people may say, but it's the same players making the same mistakes, goalkeeper, in defence and up front. For me, the main positives were:
Adam Armstrong - I'm sure there's a good player in there if he gains some confidence. He runs around and works hard. Good header yesterday. He might be better this year.
Bazunu - Great save in the first half and he was commanding. Will Ralph play him from the start? He ought to.
Apart from that, we aren't good enough as things stand. We need some quality in defence and up front. It's a matter of which 4 teams are worse than us. |  |
