TBF if you are Mara’s agent, or indeed anybody’s agent, now is the time to absolutely be putting it out there that your client is interested in a move.

A loan move back to France, where Mara still gets his obscene salary paid by a mix of Saints and a French club, would suit him down to the ground.

His (and Saints) worst case would be a loan to a club like Leyton Orient, which would be his level of ability and where Saints would have to continue to pay almost all of his wages.
