I've lost track of the number of central defenders we've bought in recent years. There seem to have been so many of them.

Ok but clean sheets are more down to the defenders that the goalie, as the difference with Forster showed as he looked great when he had the likes of Van Dijk and Fonte in front of him, but then looked appalling when he had the likes of Hoedt and Yoshida in front of him.
And so far we’ve only seen the poor defenders in front of him, so who knows what he’d of looked like if he’d of had the likes of Van Dijk and Fonte leading the defence ahead of him.
But even then, it’s been the defence and lack of support from midfield that have cost us most of our goals, whilst Bazunu’s only really been at fault for 1, in a game where even if he had saved it we’d of still lost. | |
