Jan Bednerak potential out injured… 00:32 - Sep 11 with 1783 viewsSFC_Referee

Well Jan got subbed off early in the Poland game due to a potential injury, and with Stephens also out we sure do look light in defence…

As if he is out for Friday, then that means that THB is almost certain to start, but it’ll just be a question of who’s with him? Will he play Charles back there again, that Zach Awe giving him a chance outside the reserves at some first team action or even go with Holgate after his nightmare of a debut.
But either way, as I’ve said before we did need to sign another centre half when the window was open as I was worried something like this would happen and come back to bite us.

I've lost track of the number of central defenders we've bought in recent years. There seem to have been so many of them.

Goalkeeper must still be the priority. We haven't kept a clean sheet in any of our last 18 competitive games or our 5 pre-season games. Are we trying to break a club record? Maybe we already have. I can't remember a run this bad.

Ok but clean sheets are more down to the defenders that the goalie, as the difference with Forster showed as he looked great when he had the likes of Van Dijk and Fonte in front of him, but then looked appalling when he had the likes of Hoedt and Yoshida in front of him.
And so far we’ve only seen the poor defenders in front of him, so who knows what he’d of looked like if he’d of had the likes of Van Dijk and Fonte leading the defence ahead of him.

But even then, it’s been the defence and lack of support from midfield that have cost us most of our goals, whilst Bazunu’s only really been at fault for 1, in a game where even if he had saved it we’d of still lost.

It's not a problem.

Holgate will do a couple of mazy 60-yard runs, dribbling past all 10 of Leicester's outfield players.

Before passing the ball back to Bazunu.

He will fall over claiming a foul like he always does and the ball will bounce off of manning straight to Jannick Vestaguard who smashes the ball 22 yards out straight into the top corner ,to shut up the inevitable boos from the baying for blood chapel stand crowd
