Based on FA hearings I have been involved with as a panel member, (mainly League / County level appeal board hearings at Wembley Stadium - they use the executive boxes) it will probably be a 10.00am start.
It is possible that it will be 24 hours before the decision is made public. Maybe the same day if we are lucky. |  | | |

Really, a 10.00 am start and then a 24 hours delay from the conclusion of the meeting before a decision is released to the public ?
Given the importance of the decision to the three clubs and their supporters I would have thought that extremely unlikely.
If it is the case given that it’s still possible to gamble on Middlesbrough being promoted if we are booted out, then I venture to suggest that there is every opportunity for information of the decision leaking out, leading to the possibility of someone making a killing in the betting market.
Simply can’t see it happening. I expect the decision will be made public immediately the meeting concludes. [Post edited 19 May 0:49]

A hearing of this magnitude is way above my pay grade so just saying what usually happens from my experience. It may well be different in this instance because it is a one off.
If they are going for a 10.00 start then they will probably convene at 09.00 as prior to commencing the hearing the Disciplinary Secretary for the hearing will conduct a detailed briefing outlining the case, the procedure, and present everyone with all relevant documentation such as written submissions and relevant rule extracts (that could run way beyond the charge sheet breaches). On some appeals I have attended (and I realise this is not one) if there is a lot of written evidence to consider the panel might well have received that evidence 24 hours in advance in order to be able to read through it properly prior to the hearing. I have no idea if this has or has not happened in this instance.
They have already said it MAY take 24 hours to make the decision public, I have no idea how long the IP's deliberations will take. The Clubs and the League will be informed prior to it being made public. Regarding anyone making a killing on the outcome in the time between the decision being made and it being made public I would assume the Disciplinary Secretary will briefly halt the proceedings at the point that the consideration of all evidence is concluded in order to contact the EFL to confirm the conclusion of their deliberations, at that point the EFL will immediately issue an instruction to all bookmakers to suspend betting on the outcome. This could easily be done over the PA wire (old school) or whatever the digital equivalent now is. This should close down any opportunities if done correctly at the conclusion of the hearing before they move onto voting on the outcome. | | | |

We are all hoping for a quick and positive end to this as I am sure every Saints fan has just about had enough of it all. I think they will try to get a decision out today and if it is cut and dried on the evidence presented then hopefully an announcement will be forthcoming later today.
However, if the panel are split then it could take 24hrs to get an answer. With what is at stake, within reason, the clock should not add extra pressure to the situation. I’d rather wait until tomorrow afternoon for a favourable decision for Saints than suffer negative consequences if the party supporting us folded under pressure to meet a deadline.
As agonising as the wait would be, I’d take it for the right outcome.
