From my continuing position of utter ignorance, and fully accepting that there appears to be no choice but to sell or die, it still doesn't feel like the saintliness or otherwise of the new owners has any relevance. They will be the owners.

Ah, the nub of the gist! Isn't this the circle that cannot be squared? Are not "safeguards" precisely what are required to be removed in order to secure the "investment"?

Hi Brierls

Will it not be the case, though, that this will be the final and only time that "due diligence" will be able to be applied? What is to stop the new "investor" selling their stake immediately? (And if they can't why would they "invest"?). Admittedly it still may be worth proceeding if the alternative is oblivion. It's a horrible choice!

Just been reminiscing with the boy; the most enjoyable phase of my Dale-watching career all-in-all.

Did he give him his debut at Kidderminster? (Probably not; I'm probably mis-remembering!)

Haven't seen too many games but I don't think the majority of the players are as irredeemably woeful as painted. The ship just seems utterly rudderless; the entire club just drifting aimlessly.

Commendable maths (I was certain you would have made a schoolboy error; I should have known better!).

I think the issue is that it is presumably possible for one person to buy as many tickets as they have genuine email addresses, the flaw being that actual names and addresses are rendered completely redundant. This is pure speculation, I hasten to add, as I haven't myself purchased a ticket

Someone pointed out that their season card number didn't work, but a random number did. Joking aside, it's a serious matter that everyone who has bought a ticket has had their email address potentially made public. Don't shoot the messenger!

I presumed the 2 email addresses I saw were the genuine addresses of 2 ticket buyers.

Website is hilarious. Put a random number into "Account Number", you can buy a ticket, but the form is preloaded with someone's email address every time. Data protection, anyone?
