In my experience its those who's future retirement plans are not dependant on their state pension which they would treat as pin money are the ones who dismiss the needs of those who aren't in that position. |

I'm still paying tax dispite being retitred , I was taxed on my income which contributed to my state and private pension and there s no way on gods earth will I ever feel guilty for having the two . I did without whilst working to provide for my retirement. At 70 I like a lot of other pensioners are paying taxes still contributing towards other peoples pensions , you don't hear us complaining.
You say young people have it tough that depends on what you class as being a necessity these days to live, how many kids these days are driving around in newish BMWs or Audis , the latest Iphone or two holidays a year etc , poverty has always existed and thats the beauty of capitalism in that it gives the opportunity to better yourself ,
so don't think its only todays youngsters who have ever worked hard , manual work is a dirty word for a lot these days. I could never afford a new car or go on holidays abroad until my kids had grown up and my wife then only started to work because we belived that if you couldn't afford kids then don't have them and not rely on the state to support you. |

Because it’s not a benefit it’s an agreement between the payee and government that monies paid in will be returned on retirement age , are you willing to give up yours for the good of the country ? , not everyone has the luxury of index linked private pensions or a decent pay to put money aside for their futures . This country was built on the sweat and hard work of people who paid compulsorily paid into a scheme , if they opted out then that’s their lookout but the majority didn’t .You say it takes up half the welfare bill but it’s not the other half who’ve paid into the system , just taken from it. |

This bunch of charletans currently in charge of the country have deemed it necessary to send out a task force to the Saudi to help them defend themselves againgst rising Houthi attacks dispite them maintaining approximately 257,000 active military personnel, supported by a well-equipped air force, navy, and ground forces, with a defense budget of around $78–$80 billion ,maybe this is a way of them having another country pay for training which we apparantly can no longer afford.
I see Jacob slack jawed Rees Mogg is trying to instill a sense of patrotic pride in the countrys citizens by telling us that we should take up arms againgst whom ever , even if some of us have to die , “It is not impossible that in the next few years we may face a war. If that happens, we will need people who want to join the armed services and go out and do their duty. There may even be circumstances where people have to die to save their country, as seen in wars before.”
“That is something that makes a country survive. If people aren’t willing to do their duty, then the country will be taken over by another country. This is partly why Ancient Rome fell. Duty is a noble thing, and it is not always easy, but it is the right thing to do.”

and most intelligent people will see the use of prearranged transfers between the French version of the RNLI and ours as what it is , a passage assisted and enabled by this government , dispite all the bluster emnating from social media . Why are these craft returned to the French along with all associated equipment , engines life jackets etc .By all accounts another boat transfer today now heading to Portsmouth. I wonder if the so called rise in donations will cover the amount no longer given. No volunteer should be put at risk for doing a job they believe is worth while , maybe the public anger should be directed at the people who are allowing these planned and well organised transfers to occur. |

and your last sentence is the reason why this government is determined to force fossil fuelled vehicles off the road , with the next wave of restrictive practices such as additional emmisions tests above the current MOT test will ensure people will either put themselves in hock having to buy an electric car or use public transport ,the days of freedom of travel are being eroded . |

Passed there this morning ,theres still an awful lot of groundwork to complete but it looks like the pitch is laid . I'm looking forward to a newer addition to our sporting locations around the city , even Mynydd Newydd have two enclosed football pitches and more work ongoing around Sketty lane we're developing quite a collection of up to date , modern sporting facilities. |

I agree , a decent footballer ,on his day that is , but can be anonymous for a lot of the time .Not sure scoring a freekick can be discribed as dragging a team to a draw but hi ho .IMO another who flatters to deceive. |

you said billions , it wasn't according to official government figures it was 715 million and unless it was tried how would we know.whether it would have worked
What we do know is that this one in out scheme is a joke and an expensive one at that .80 + years ago we managed to stop being invaded by a number of german divisions aided by a airforce which was greater than ours and today due to a lack of will and a corrupt political class we can't stop rubber boats full of "unarmed" men. |
