Southampton To Play £100 Million Hardball With Manchester City & Spurs
at 15:42 26 Mar 2025

He's clearly a great talent, but has hardly set the world alight for us. A few pieces of brilliance here and there, but a lot of completely anonymous appearances too.

I don't blame the lad for this btw; he's young, inexperienced and has been chucked in the deep end much sooner than he should have in a proper crap side. Can't be good for him in any way, other than it's put him in the shop window I guess.

Anyone buying him is paying for his potential and it's hard to value that. He will be worth serious money in a year or two imo, so I understand the club not wanting him to go for his realistic value, which is probably around £20-£30m as things stand.

SR Out - Yes, No or Not sure
at 10:49 20 Mar 2025

What sort of owners do people expect to get? That's Kat Liebherr, Gao and now Sports Republic we've wanted gone.

We don't like the immoral Saudi/Qatar/UAE state owned clubs like City and Newcastle. The Chinese had loads of money a few years ago and were acquiring clubs, but they fell on their arses and turned out to have no investment potential. The increasing number of Yank owners are becoming more of a problem with their thirst for an NFL franchise model, so we wouldn't want to go down that route.

Who does that leave? The lifetime Southampton fan and local businessman turned multi-billionaire, who loves the club and is prepared to pump hundreds of millions of his own money into it. Dream on.

Where are people sitting next season?
at 15:11 17 Mar 2025

I think a fair few will move. For me, it's not about being near the away fans; I just can't be surrounded by the complete gimps that occupy the Wall any longer.

I've only got myself to blame for getting conned into moving there in the first place. I knew it'd be shit, but got sucked in by the early bird pricing, being able to stand and the threat of sizeable price increases in all other parts of the ground. I did however underestimate just how much I'd hate it in there, but that's probably been magnified by what's been served up on the pitch tbf.

In the same vein, I don't want to have to sit in silence, get told off if I stand at certain points of the game or be worried about who's around me if I swear. You wouldn't think that'd be too much to ask for, but our fanbase largely seems to be made up with those 2 extremes.

Liverpool V Newcastle
at 08:13 14 Mar 2025

If I had to choose, I'd lean towards Liverpool too, only for the fact they're guaranteed to win the League anyway, so the w@nkfest won't be quite so unbearable as if Newcastle did.

In normal circumstances I'm happy for Man City to clean sweep everything.

That Wolves 2003 game was peak Burberry/Aquascutum baseball cap and scarf era. Never seen so many in one place with their lot.

Prices for next season
at 20:24 11 Mar 2025

Last season we stupidly gave a 3000 allocation to all away fans at ours, until sometime into the New Year when the club seemed to suddenly realise we didn’t have to. For the remainder of the season, we gave no-one more than 2000.

I’m all for us giving 3000, but only if it’s reciprocated. Same with away ticket prices; do them for £20-£30 if the favour is returned.

I think you're missing the point old boy, so I'll help out. Results have nothing to do with where the fans are in the stadium, but everything to do with how good the players, manager and owners are.

That always was my argument...you used to argue different. It now seems you're agreeing with me...without actually admitting it to yourself.

You used to care.
The Northam should be home fans only, you said
The atmosphere would be better, you said
Having away fans behind the goal was costing us points, you said.

Finally the changes you've craved for years have happened and we've won one at home all season. I was looking forward to all the extra points we were supposed to gain, but it now seems to be down to the owners, the manager and our players not being good enough. Who'd have thought!

So the position of the away fans doesn’t have an impact on our results after all?

Glad we got there in the end

..but the away fans are in a corner now so will no longer have an impact on the game. Our home kop, aka the Northam Wall, will roar us onto victory, like it has done er just once already this season

5 things from liverpool
at 11:14 10 Mar 2025

More and more of our fans moan about the hardships of being a Saints fan, but I'd absolutely hate to support a club like Liverpool. Yes they win things, but at what cost? I know we've got a lot of bellends that support us, but if you're a proper match-going fan from Liverpool having to put up with that nonsense all the time, the frustrations must be off the scale.

I've seen Solent Toffee say how the town centre turns into Disneyland for the weekend when Liverpool play at home and I totally get it. The amount of Irish/Scandinavian/Chinese I saw spilling out of hotels and waiting for taxis etcs, all decked out in full merch was quite something.

Obviously Man Utd have always been the original glory hunter club, but City and practically all the London clubs have a growing problem with their clubs pandering to tourist fans, which just adds to the proper shit show the Premier League has become. I don't get why people are so obsessed with us being in it.
