I found Sun drift during the lockdown. There's a laidback catchiness that I really love about his music. Nice melodies and use of words combined with a homemade production quality and no shortage of talent. I ordered a cassette from his bandcamp and totally forgot about it until 6 months later a little envelope arrived from Sheffield. I've still got it on my shelf. Pretty sure I'm the only person who ever listens to him.
Whilst I do agree. Who's to say we don't make 5 times (or more) for what we paid for some of our other signings? Ideally we'd have bought Ronnie for £3m from Peterborough but it wasn't possible back then. I think this is a very good signing for a player who has the potential to be our next maverick. We like a maverick here don't we?
Another notable fact was their keeper being beaten 3 times on his nearside. I'm not sure if I've seen that before. Think we had a keeper once who was a bit prone to conceding like that (several probably!). Was it Smithies? Although he was very good at most other things.
I'm not so sure there's a big problem with the system itself but it's the application of the system. Our attacking mids/wingers were miscontrolling the ball, misplacing passes, making poor decisions, not shooting, not crossing (or crossing badly) and were generally being a bit crap all night.
For me it's the wingers and attacking mids that aren't performing at the moment. Dembele, Saito, Smyth not creating much and Chair and Poku have been injured most of the season. Very little being created by them and we look most threatening when the defenders join the attack. Burrell and Kone are not the problem for me I can't remember them missing many chances yesterday.
It sounds like an ambitious manager highlighting areas he thinks need strengthening just before a transfer window. Goalkeeper, left back, right back, left centre-back, striker.
I think he's vital for us though and really helps us stretch teams. Our fitness level looks better than it has for years for me. Madsen, Dunne, Burrell, Mbengue, Kone and Saito have all played a lot of minutes recently. We've won 5 and drawn 1 in the last 8 I think.
