What I find annoying is the clapping of a bad ball hit to an attacking player. The ball is swung across the the left wing to the guy running, busting a gut, down the right and it flies over his head into the crowd. He immediately gives the thumbs up in acknowledgement and claps the player that just over hit the ball. No, it's not a sarcastic applaud, heaven forbid, it's showing appreciation that the other guy tried, I guess, wtf is that all about? When did footballers get so sensitive that they can't handle some criticism that the pass was crap and they need to get thier sh!t together. OK if the pass is pinpoint and the receiving player mishandled, then applaud by all means. Are these Gen z footballers so fragile that they can't deal with an occasional bit of lambasting. My 70's sporting brain finds this ridiculous.
Well after gifting the obligatory 1st goal at the 6 minute mark we will come at them like crabs on cowboys. I can see Saito, Burrell early in the second half and our Swiss chocolatier oozing his way through on goal like a gooey chocolate truffle left out in the sun with a very late third. Let the Saturday night celebrations commence.
Listening to my '60's hippies' Playlist this morning and just heard this. It's a classic, well at least in my mind. Oh and Michelle Phillips, Hubba hubba
Great memories from my early 20's. Before the internet and (un) social media, we would spend most the evenings listening to music. RIP Gato, you helped a young man get into Tina whatsername's pants.
