Why It Has To Be 20 Games Undefeated Rather Than 21 !
at 10:53 26 Jan 2024

You are correct, in 1896-97 we went 24 league (Southern league ) games unbeaten (all that season plus the last 4 matches of the previous season). So the all time club record is 24 league matches unbeaten. But in Feb 1897 (I believe Feb 20th), we lost an FA Cup 2nd round replay to Newton Heath (Man Utd) 3-1, thus our unbeaten run record in all competitions ended at 21 (this includes Southern League and FA Cup). So as it stands the all time club record stands at 21 (all comps) and 24 (league).

We have also beaten the longest run unbeaten away (Football League) which stood at 9 (1949 & 1984), but are currently equal with the longest unbeaten league away record all time which is 10 in 1896-7. Just to highlight the Southern League in 1896-7 consisted of 11 teams only, so we went through the whole season unbeaten, but that is 20 matches.

Not sure of the connection between Forster and what you say we need. Agreed he is big, but loud and commanding. You must be thinking of someone else.

Up turn in results coincided with Richard Kitzbichler having an influence, took him a while to settle in. Rohl no longer mentioned because Ralph replaced him, possibly even improved on him, time will tell. Simple really.

Apparently a massive cockup by The Echo. The poor guy has not died, hence why the Echo article was pulled. Disgraceful really that a newspaper can break stuff like this without checking the facts.

A gamechanger - the EU must get real.
at 13:41 4 Jan 2020

Contibutions to the EU budget are based on population of each member state. UK actually contributed 11.88% in 2018, while Germany contributed 20.78% and France 15.58%. EU have not pushed the UK around in any way shape or form. Most of the rest of your post is utter bollocks, but you know that don't you. Fed on the lies of Farage, Rees-Mogg, Johnson and Cummings.

Better off with an Alfa, the Guilia (saloon) or the Stelvio (SUV) . Far better value and reliability and they are not German.

[He's also now got Matt Crocker to take some of the pressure and provide some input.]

Not yet he hasn't. But he does have Kitzbichler.

88 percent of tory ads found to be dishonest 0 percent of labour ones
at 22:44 10 Dec 2019

Just to be clear, it is 88% of Facebook ads. Tories posted nearly 6000 FB ads in early December at a cost of £50k. No Labour ads were found to be dishonest or misleading, but then they did post relatively few FB ads in comparison.

London Bridge terrorist attack (n/t)
at 21:22 1 Dec 2019

Thought perhaps it was just me that thought organising an event where convicted terrorists might attend at London Bridge, right opposite Borough Markets was not perhaps the most sensible or thoughtful choice. You know London Bridge, the scene of the 2017 terrorist attack. Mind boggles that people from Cambridge University thought this was a good idea.

Boufal has always been decent defending, much the best of our attacking midfielders. he may have issues doing what he is supposed to do up front, but Armstrong really is not very good defensively.

Rumoured Departure Hints At Coaching Shake Up At Saints
at 21:45 7 Nov 2019

I'd have been surprised too. Jaidi did not replace Doddsy and Willo. He was somewhere in the coaching set up already having hung up his boots in 2012. It was a couple of years after they left before he started assisting Martin Hunter. It was Les Read's man Hunter who replaced them.

Simple question
at 09:48 23 Sep 2019

"Clear and Obvious" is not applicable to offsides. VAR is working correctly for offsides given the ridiculous current (since 1984) law. The problem is the law needs to be changed. Offside is about stoppiing an attacker gaining an unfair advantage. There is no advantage in having a part of your body 5mm ahead of the last defender. I don't know how they should reform the Law, how it should be specified, but until they do they should not use VAR to police what should be a bit more of a subjective decision.

SFC hero wades in on the brexit debate
at 11:02 4 Aug 2019

The EU is far more democratic than the British Parliament. That's why grubby little organisations such as UKIP and Brexit Ltd get to have representation, when they cannot get it in Westminster. Getting a new PM foisted upon us by the members of an elite club is also not exactly democratic.

He has a Champions League winners medal, but he did not play any games in the 2012-13 Champs League competition. Guessing he was an unused sub in one or more games, perhaps in the Final itself. We do have other Champs League winners, Bertrand and Romeu of course.
It is also a bit of a myth that he won MULTIPLE Bundesliga titles with Bayern. He is credited with 2, but played only twice in the first season, and 7 in the second. There used to be minimum number of games qualification to get a winners medal in the Premier League, but don't know if there was in the Bundesliga.
Still a good player whether or not he technically/morally qualified for the honours that he has won.
