| Forum Reply | Do Southampton Need To Recall Bella-Kotchap For Liverpool Clash at 11:13 21 Nov 2024
He'll play 3 ctr backs. Possibly utilise Taylor alongside THB & Slack Jack.(why did we waste money on Wood & Edwards, oh yeh, they're players for the future) He'll use Sugawara and KWP as inverted full backs (whatever that means) We don't know if Downes will be fit, but either way I expect RM to shoehorn Manning in somewhere (to be fair Manning has been half decent when played in a more forward role, but still not Premier quality). The players might change but the dreaded system won't. [Post edited 21 Nov 11:15]

It's a cert that THB will move on, even in the unlikely event of us staying up. Players always come back from International duty with their ambitions raised. Mixing + training + playing with other International players that are earning twice as much as your are is bound to turn the head of even the most devoted players. Bit at least we'll sell him for a lot more than we paid for him. That'll make a change from recently having to get rid of players for a lot less than we paid for them. |

It could be longer out with knee ligament damage. Possibly 5 - 6 weeks depending on the severity of the injury. Best scenario is that nothing is torn, if its just tweaked could be back in less than 3 weeks. |
| Forum Thread | Such sad news about legendary Dave Watson at 09:12 18 Nov 2024
Before the England game started yesterday they did a feature on Dave Watson who is now suffering Dementia. How sad to see him as he is now, I'll always remember him as a giant in the game. At the time he was probably the best centre back in the game. We were lucky enough to see him play for us albeit at the end of his memorable career. Best wishes Dave & thanks for the memories. |
| Forum Reply | Shea Charles captained his National side last night at 14:12 16 Nov 2024
Sounds like a good idea. Pierce Charles is a young goalkeeper that likes to & is confident playing out from the back. Might be just what we need for playing in Championship under the management of Russell Martin next season. |

It would appear that Shea Charles is impressing in his loan spell at Sheff Wed. It looks inevitable that we'll recall him in January ( assuming we have that option). What's the chances of his goalkeeping brother who's also impressing for club & country joining him at St Mary's. |

I just love Pickfords attitude & enthusiasm. He's fully committed every time he plays. Don't understand why so many people knock him, he's by far the best we've got. |

Not sure Carsley wanted the job permanently. |
| Forum Reply | Are we really waiting at 12:01 15 Nov 2024
Exactly. With these ridiculous long contracts that Managers & Players are on, the incentive is to fail. When they know they are out of their depth & not up to the job they've got, what a lovely option to have, to get sacked & relax on full pay for the rest of your contract. |

For once I found our England team watchable. I normally fall asleep when watching Englad play their slow, pedestrian (Saints like) football. Last night it was much better, it was slick, incisive, good movement. I normally struggle to name a player that has performed well but I thought they all did a good job last night. Nice to see us play with two proper wingers that were prepared to take their full backs on. Let's hope Tuchel can build on last night's performance when he eventually takes over. |

We will wait until all the best Managers/ Coaches have been snapped up by more ambitious clubs. Then SR will have an excuse for not getting a decent one & we'll end up with another cheap option from a lower lge. Oh Happy Days. |

4 --- 6 weeks. |

Russell Martin has a holiday coming. If his Hols are anything like his tactics he won't get out of his own back yard. |

Ramsdale's broken finger likely to keep him out for possibly 6 weeks. Just when we thought it couldn't get any worse. |
| Forum Reply | Get Ruud now! at 18:04 11 Nov 2024
Be Ruud not to get him. |
| Forum Reply | One good reason why they won't get rid of Russell Martin at 18:51 10 Nov 2024
Trouble is Grumps, we don't have enough decent players to keep us up. And our owners track record of January signings does not fill me with confidence. I really do hope that something changes very soon because we are rapidly becoming the Premier Lgs whipping boys. |
| Forum Reply | This team is worse than than the one that got relegated 2 years ago. at 14:00 10 Nov 2024
I disagree, we are weaker now. The only area we are better is in goal. Perraud was better than Manning. Taylor Harwood Bellis is OK but no better than what we had 22/23 season. Prowsy & Lavia were far better than any combination we have now. Alcaraz was about the same as Fernández. Then we had Stuey Armstrong & Che. Adams both better than what we have now. Most of the others are the same players that took us down. I agree that this Manager is not getting the best out of some of the new players but most of them wouldn't get into any other Premier side. |
