Prowsy on the Bench again today for Hammers.
at 14:17 5 May 2024

Prowsy has been left on the bench again today as he was in previous match.
With the quality that the Hammers have he's now finding it difficult to get a start.
But at least he's had the opportunity to experience some European football, he wouldn't have got that with us.

I think McCarthy has done OK since he has come in.
Considering he hadn't played a first team match this season he's adapted really well.
Our defence has benefited because he's not
as good as Baz with his feet so doesn't take so many risks.
Much less Tippy Tappy in & around our own box. Just hope he keeps it up for Play Off's.

I think it was when Bertrand left so it would have been when RH was in charge.
There was lots of talk at the time that Firpo was the player we wanted to replace Bertrand.

Martin Surprisingly Picks a Decent Side For Leeds
at 14:56 4 May 2024

RM is a Genius.(with a smart new hair style)
Playing JS in 2 positions at left back & midfield. Looked a worldy.
RM left midfield & he looked OK there.
Bringing on Sulemane at Ctr Forward. ( he's mastered the art of falling over).
What other manager would have thought of that system.
Just a shame he left it to the very last game of the season to find a system that works.
FD was immense today.
In fact just for once I cannot think of anyone that didn't put in a shift.
No passengers today (until Sulemane came on).

What we need & What we get could be two totally difference things.
Recent dealings in the transfer market have not been very successful.

Che Adams v Adam Armstrong stats
at 10:06 2 May 2024

We all give Che Adams a lot of stick but his goalscoring record this season is much better than Adam Armstrongs.
If you judge by number of goals per number of minutes played then Che's record is much better than AA's.
And that's not taking into consideration that AA has penalties included in his total.
But, they've both missed too many to count.
It doesn't matter how many they score between them if we keep conceding more than we score.
Our goals conceded is shocking & if it hadn't been for AA & CA contribution we wouldn't have made the play offs.
Well never know how many Ross Stewart would have scored.

Perhaps not able to play Rustyball, but his record would suggest that he can keep the ball out of the net.
I might be wrong but I thought was a priority for a Goalkeeper.
Ooooh, I am so Old School.

I think he's kept about 20 clean sheets, sounds a step up on what we've got.
Why did we buy him & then loan him straight out ?.

And he rates Ryan Manning.
He's Probably the only person that does.
He also thinks AA & JS are leaders & worthy of being Captains.
That just about sums RM up.
It's because he's only ever managed at this or lower levels.
He's comparing our current players to the ones he's worked with before in the lower lge.
We need a manager that has experienced working with quality players & knows how to manage them.
RM is not that man.

The irony is that the others have been dropping points.
If only we had been able to win our last 3 games we could have made automatic promotion.
BUT, the reality is we don't deserve it.
We've still a chance in the play offs but I fear the worst, getting promoted.
With the current owners + current Manager + current players we'll get well stuffed in Premier lge.
If only we had the squad that we had in 2012 when we got promoted.
Jose Fonte + Adam Lallana + Morgan Schniederlin + Rickie Lambert.

I think you're spot on.
It looks like they are spending far too much time attempting to perfect the short pass , possession football & they are forgetting the basics.
None of the players look fit, they look jaded, tired, lazy which would suggest that they are not doing enough leg & lung work in training.
They need to be even fitter now with most games lasting 96 mins +.
Other teams are definitely bigger, fitter & more committed than we are.

Wouldn't disagree, Steve Cooper has a decent track record (more than you can say for RM).
I'd prefer Graham Potter but that ain't going to happen.
It's unlikely we'd go for anyone that's proven at working with clubs of our status. Just look at our last 3 choices of Manager.
Nathan Jones
Ruben Selles
Russell Martin..
The longer the season has gone on the more convinced I am that RM is just not the man to take us up.
He's lost the confidence of the fan base & it looks like he's lost the dressing room as well.

Does anybody think Saints can get promoted this season?
at 13:47 28 Apr 2024

Disagree with your list of players good enough to play in Premier lge.
KWP OK going forward but totally useless defensively. If he was good enough a Premier Club would have snapped him up by now.(he might go to a Premier Club at end of season but very soon get found out defensively.)
TBH is not our player Man City will decide his future.
Jan B had a torrid spell at Villa , couldn't get a game, that's why he came back to us.
FD same as THB he's not ours & West Ham will decide his future.
Neither Fraser or Brookes could get games at their parent clubs, just came to us for game time.
As for Alcaraz the Jury is still out on him only time will tell.
Perraud possibly get a game in a poor Premier side ( but he would be a massive improvement on Manning for us).

I said this on a previous post.
The loanees are not bothered if we do or if we don't get promoted because at end of season they will go back to their parent Premier lge clubs.
Our players proved last season that they weren't good enough for Premier lge so they will have to be replaced if we get there.
It's in their best interests to stay playing in the Championship.
That's why there's a total lack of effort & commitment.
Leicester + Leeds × Ipswich don't have a loanee between them (correct me if I'm wrong) so they don't rely on loanees hence they have an incentive to go up.
A lot of Leicester & Leeds players are good enough to play in Premier lge.
I can't think of any of our players that are good enough to play in Premier lge.

Ex playere No.96 coming back?
at 13:13 27 Apr 2024

You're right about the big clubs getting first choice of the youngsters but I also think that we used to be attractive to youngsters because they knew they'd get a fair chance of game time to prove themselves.
They probably look at the way we handle our Academy players now, very few of them are given first team game time, the likes of Dibling & Meghoma could be future Stars but they'll not get a chance to develop here.
As a youngster why would you want to come here now.
The Academy is now an expensive luxury that we cannot afford.

Where's our Academy players.
Rather than bringing in expensive crocks we should go back to our Roots & develop our own stars of the future. (eg. Walcott + Shaw + Oxlade Chamberlain + many others).
We have invested serious money into our Academy & we'll never find a good one if they're not given a chance.
Last couple of seasons all we've done is raided other clubs for their Academy players, how demoralising for our own lads.
If we're not producing players from the Academy we just as well do away with it.

Definitely not.
We need fit, physically strong players.
AOC would be an expensive crock.
