Richard Scudamore's Retirement Present
at 09:42 15 Nov 2018

For once Henry Winter has written something I agree with. He says it perfectly. This is why I turned my back on the Premier League and reading this I'm glad I did. As Johnny Rotten said "Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?"

Maya Yoshida
at 10:48 20 Aug 2017

Solid, loyal, dependable, doesn't cheat, modest wages, good disciplinary record, now starting to score and create goals, got star player in the Sunday Times today. In the old days when following Saints was fun, we had players like Nick Holmes who had these qualities, now every week Yoshida gets slated for not being a tantrum seeking cheating crybaby like some of his team mates. Every team needs unsung players like Yoshida putting in a shift.

Let's have something a bit more light hearted. Anyone go to the Ageas Bowl last night? I thought Liam Dawson and Mason Crane did themselves proud.

Puel

It looks like he is going now, but what will the club say by way of a reason? 8th place was a solid achievement and a good showing in a Wembley final so citing performance won't cut it. He gave the academy a chance to shine ( with mixed results). That just leaves the old "attractive brand of football" baloney and "losing the dressing room"which is really just sulking players whingeing about being dropped. It's not a strong case is it.

Congratulations Pompey
at 08:56 7 May 2017

THere are plenty on here not man enough to say it but there are some who are, so well done Pompey. But this was also the last farewell of fans having any say in the running of their club. Next season Portsmouth's fans will just be the poodles of a billionaire who either regards their club as a way to make money or as a plaything to amuse their friends - just like Southamptons and every other club's fans. So it was a great way to end the dream - but the dream is over.

Just read his book. He writes well. Is his true identity now known? I heard one rumour that he's Dave Kitson, but while reading the book I got the impression of somebody with a little more "star quality" - perhaps Phil or Gary Neville. Anyone got any intell on this?

Still wondering whether letting Jack Cork go was a good move. Its' not as if Saints are desperate for £3m and now that MS has gone as well they have to pay 3 times that to replace him anyway.

....who were on here on Friday bragging about how they were going to give Redknapp hell and that anyone who didn't do the same wasn't a proper fan etc etc........ going to come back on here this morning and tell everyone how successful they were and how they helped Saints to a great win?
Will these dopes never learn? Hostility always fires up the opposition - It never, ever helps your own team. If you want to deflate the opposition you gnore them. Liverpool fans in the seventies and eighties acted as though they hadn't even looked to see who their team were playing - and it worked. That was why other teams hated playing at Liverpool. It gave the opposition nothing at all to feed off. So well done especially the Northam End for f*cking up and creating a cauldron of hate, just as Redknapp would have wished. You didn't even dent his ego. And it really helped the team didn't it. I bet you are all really pleased with yourselves.

What a Waste

This modern stadium built to house 27,500 stands empty and unused.

http://stadiums.football.co.uk/League2/The-Darlington_Arena.htm

Darlington went out of business because of this overambitious folly. They fell out of the League then the Conference, and in a massive irony the newly formed Darlington 1883 could not even afford to play there so they upped sticks to ground share with Bishop Auckland and now this stadium (the same size as the Madewski in Reading) is empty, silent and rusting.
Could Pompey relocate?

Abramovich's 40000 playthings
at 08:54 27 Nov 2012

All the little people holding up their bits of paper slagging of Benitez, and not one single word against their emperor sat up in the stand with that usual inane grin on his corrupt Russian gob. I had no respect for Chelsea fans before but seeing their collective spinelessness laid out for the whole country to see was a fecking backfiring emabarrassment. If any Chelsea fans are reading this, all the unemployed Benitez did was take a part time job paying £50k a week to tide him over so why are you picking on him FFS? It was Abramovich who sacked your beloved manager, now go and rewrite your placards and criticise your owner if you've got the bottle, or just keep enjoying the roubles and keep your traps shut.

Swansea v Everton
at 12:01 24 Sep 2012

With the Olympic spirit now just a red glow on the horizon how great it is to be reminded of what the Premiership stands for. The sight of Nathan Dyer, picking up an avoidable booking for petulance then stewing on it for 10 minutes until the opportunity came to lunge at a fellow pro and get himself sent off. Who should we feel sorry for most - His teammates - who had no chance of getting back into the game? The guy he nearly crocked? The fans who paid good money to follow their team? Or maybe just himself, as he was doing when he walked off the pitch.
Less than a month after waving goodbye to an ocean of endeavour and sacrifice we have to endure the unprofessional antics of a spoilt immature overpaid little shit, whose fine won't even make a dent in his lifestyle.
Compare and contrast with Tony Pulis talking about cheating - sorry "simulation" after the game with Chelsea. Tony Pulis was a top man the way he handled it. He must have been angry but he buttoned it.
