Three Things Grown Men Should Not Do
at 08:12 8 Aug 2020

1. Drink in any bar with the words Funky or Flamingo in its name.
2. Get a tattoo
3. Drive around in a car with the roof down blasting out shite music. (Bonus point if thinning hair)

I might have liked them when I was teenager. That was a very long time ago. Now I think it's a racket.

As the OP the question was about form this season not an invite to discuss comparisons against a lower league team. Our home form this season is primarily down to our inability to break down teams who invariably have 10 players behind the ball. We don't have a playmaker who can unlock defences. Away from home we can play on the break hence our superior form. All about skill and tactics which you don't see so much of in the lower leagues you frequent.

Just what this forum needs. Maybe another about Brexit just to make sure it's not been covered before. Oh and one on COVID. Anything but Saints.

Romeuo was excellent today. Everything PEH isn't. Time on the ball and accurate passing.

If you and Ron feel so strongly about this you should contact Saints and express your disgust at the players supporting such a dangerous and racist ideology. Stand up for what you believe in and register your disapproval.

Swing Low
at 09:49 19 Jun 2020

Oh when the Saints is an older hymn adapted by gospel singers. The link to Saints is through St Mary's. There is no identified link to the slave trade. Swing Low is a much older song and has identified links with the slave trade. The RFU has started a debate on whether they want this sang as the RFUs adopted song.

And ever wondered why not only the Saints crowd but football fans generally are predominantly white ? After reading some of the shite that is posted on here I can certainly see why.

After Saints players join in the global campaign against racism in all its forms tonight I am hopeful we can march on to a comfortable victory.

I live on a 20 mph road with a primary school on it. And yet utter pricks seem to think it's ok to hammer down it like they are driving in a Grand Prix. And they drive those bell end cars that back fire. It's the one thing that utterly pisses me off. That and the complete tw@ts who leave their litter in the park. Bring back the stocks.

I see all clubs unaminously agreed yesterday that they will all have BLM and NHS logos on shirts. I fully expect the players of all clubs will do something to both pay respect to and register support for the global campaign to eradicate racism, in all its forms. Of course there will be a sizeable number on here who will be outraged at this. Can I suggest you either e mail the club directly or tweet those players taking part to register your opposition. Of course the easy option would be to continue to post shite on this site.

Little Britain
at 08:36 10 Jun 2020

There was opposition to the Minstrels show way back in the 1960's. The origins for the act came from the USA. During the Minstels show opposition was voiced by Civil Rights and Anti Racist campaigners in the US and the UK which the BBC chose to ignore. It was highly offensive then as it is now.

As for Little Britain both David Walliams and Matt Lucas have said there were parts of the programme they would not make now so times have moved on.

I agree though we need to careful with any censorship. The right to make jokes needs to be balanced with the need to avoid offence. I can't stand Jim Davidson and wouldn't want him on the telly but if paying punters want to go and see that trash then that is their choice I guess.

Thanks. It was 6 years ago. I think you will find most Bristolians agree it should have been removed now. The council didn’t act. A museum was called for where it could have placed in not on display in the centre of the city.
