This may be something many of you have tried but if not I thoroughly recommend it. Myself plus both sons (youngest being the stag), did a mini European tour to watch Ghent vs Liege on Friday, Borussia Möenchengladbach vs Mainz on Saturday and Feyenoord vs Utrecht on Sunday. All done on trains although Mrs HS dropped us at St Pancras as trains don’t run early enough to get a Eurostar at a sensible time. Absolutely epic time was had, Belgian Delirium Tremens gets top spot. 15 goals, 16 bookings, 2000 km and loads of memories. |

They were on sale when i bought mine at 9:40 with plenty available. Given that your post was at 16:05, probably means the lower tier is sold out. Starting at 10+ would mean a quicker initial sale. |

When we were being stuffed by Spurs in that cup tie at the Dell, my son, just a young lad then but 41 years old now, turned to me and said shall we leave dad? I turned to him somewhat angrily and said son we have never ever and will never ever leave a Saints match early. We never have. Just can’t understand it, it’s like leaving the cinema or theatre five minutes before the exciting ending. |

Thanks for that Salisbury, got things a bit twisted there! How strange it was that the PSG goalkeeper only had to dive the wrong way three times to win the penalty shootout! |

That was Arsenal’s 63rd game of the season. Apparently they have not been awarded a penalty all season. Maybe that’s why they thought the hop skip run on the spot method would succeed. Hell of a way to finish their season added to the memory of our victory against them. |

Managed to get all 6 of us tickets so Mrs Horndean Saint, 3 Horndean Saint offspring and one grandson recently converted from a Manc City glory hunter to a PO postcode Saint with a ban on half and half scarves rigidly enforced by his uncles.
All meeting in said PO postcode for cars to Uxbridge and overground underground to Wembley. |

Don't know if anyone else picked up on this, I saw it straight away even on my phone. Muniz turned the ball into the net after it had rebounded off of Manning. As Muniz was inside the penalty area when he touched the ball, according to law 16, The Goal Kick, the kick should have been taken again notwithstanding the referee blowing because the ball was moving when Peretz kicked it.
I mentioned this to a Fulham supporter friend and his response was that such rules only apply to teams outside of the top 4 or 5 in the Premier League. He has a point. Beware of the dodgy VAR decision when we play Arsenal. |

Some of you may already know this story. I managed to get it into the program for our meeting against the skates on the 2nd of December 2003.
John Motson‘s commentary on match of the day included the phrase it’s the last knockings now. It wasn’t and exactly 40 weeks later number one son arrived, 30th of October 1984. I managed to get seats in the south stand for me and Mrs Horndean Saint and I also clearly remember walking back to our car parked in Eastern Road behind some young lads saying all we need now is to come across a couple of scummers! Good job they didn’t turn round to see us sticking plenty of fingers up at them! 42 years later and now with two more Saints supporting children as well as three grandchildren going the same way I still have the clearest memories of that day. Without doubt in football match terms the best day of my life! |

Good luck, hope it’s a good match. I well remember Hampshire cup matches, my two lads played for Horndean and Clanfield. We had some good games in areas we didn’t normally play including the Isle of Wight. |

Leaving Home at seven the same as last week to pick up younger son in town and head on up to the game with Mrs Horndean Saint for a change. Back in plenty of time to get a very decent chippy from Shirley High Street. |
