Yep. Could have been a career ender. Tackle with force and uncontrolled by Finn Wilkinson. Irrespective of extent of Kone’s injury, the club should report it. If the fella has done it once, he’ll do it again. [Post edited 21 Sep 17:06]

We should have walked off after that tackle. Bad enough the challenge, someone should have punched the lad as could have ended a players career but to also only get a yellow is a joke. |

Dunne’s form has been good and he’s the captain. Difficult to leave out if he says he’s fit. But agree that in hindsight, maybe would have been better to stick with JCS for that game before the break. |

I’m not going to knock him for his first touch. That happens to the best players. It’s the decision after that that is so frustrating for a youngish lad with a lot of league experience. |

I didn’t notice at the time but I’ve seen some videos after which showed most of the squad run back after the Smyth goal to get ready for kick off as if to say “Let’s go again. Let’s keep pushing.” Obviously, poor to get into that situation but to fight back and then want to win it right to the end. No thoughts of seeing it out for a point. With that mentality, I do think we can have a good season. Credit to the players but mainly to Stephan. |

I mean for a lad who’s played over 100 games for Sunderland before joining us, it’s an unbelievably stupid thing to do in that area and situation on the pitch. Imagine if Mbengue had done that? He gave the referee a decision to make, Preston players took advantage but already being 1-0 down….just so stupid. I hope Kemper can get back over next couple of weeks because be good for Cirkin to have to fight to get back in the side after suspension. He shouldn’t just walk straight in. |

I’m guessing there’s no “middle ground”? He got the ball, his foot didn’t make contact but we respect the decision so 1 match ban rather than 3? |
