I had an interesting experience watching the game in Hospitality through work. We were the sole table of QPR fans, 6 of us. TBF the saints fans were pretty accommodating and it was a decent experience.
Varane is a player I’ve never fully understood, and never got the love and clamour for. His reduced minutes is an indication that the base level of quality in the squad has improved. If they could ever bloody stay fit. And if they did ever stay fit, I doubt he’d play at all.
Yesterday I thought he was poor. He always seems to play at 0.75 speed when the game is set to 1.00. |

Apologies if a Spackman, but as well as the jury being out for a long long time now on BW, if we were ever capable of moving away from the transfer market of a talented player with a checkered injury past, then we might move the needle on the injuries front.
This is based on pure anecdotal vibes rather than some of the really diligent data work that's been done in the thread. |

I think he's in his prime. 29 now (how is Smythy 29) and absoutely flying and buzzing about. He's a pest to play against, long may his rich vein of form continue.

A good question but actually one I struggle with.
Don’t mind some athletics but don’t follow anyone in particular.
Tennis the same.
Boxing I don’t mind but I think everything being a pay to view has stopped me following a fighters career.
F1 I loved as a kid but I’m a legacy fan and not a ‘drive to survive’ type. It’s just a glorified circus procession now.
Despite going to school near Lords, we never played cricket at my state school.
Also never got rugby…
Maybe I’m the problem 🤣
Basically it’s QPR with the occasional visit to Hanwell Town. |

Interesting interview. Seems like a really likeable bloke and also seems very considered and intelligent.
Really happy he finally got his first QPR goal and as he said his first Championship goal - you can tell that also meant something to him.

Overrated: RHCP - all their songs sound alike to me.
Ed Sheeran - seems like a nice bloke but don’t get the broad appeal.
Underrated: Janelle Monae. Very inventive artist

I work in the drinks industry, there was a big push last year to try to raise the profile of the plight of pubs. It’s a real shame. The stat last year was one a day closing.
I’d also add, as the costs have crept up, younger people just don’t get on it as much anymore. They say those in their 40s are the last generation of big drinkers.
And if you look at the proliferation of gyms on the high street, I think they’ve also contributed socially and culturally by silently usurping the pub as a meeting place, I actually think they’re the modern day equivalent of a night club as depressing as that may sound to some.
