Mrs MinT has bought the grandson (23) some shower stuff which as a fibre cloth thing ... and it comes in a snazzy basket thing... So I stupidity got that one to wrap... after 6 goes, several sheets later.. and nearly half a roll of cellotape... it looks like the dog has had a 20 minute go at it... So conceded defeat and Mrs MinT as taken over... get me to strip down a mark II escort gear box.. doodle.... but wrapping a non square .... you are having a laugh |
 | Forum Reply | A miserable return for Marti as white hot QPR incinerate Leicester – Report at 09:34 22 Dec 2025
Echo that great report Said on the match thread that there was one reason we played like this.... Marti As you said we most likely never know what happened but I think there was a lot more angst at this club with him here... as Madsen alluded too I thought the ref was poor to be honest and Mavididi should have been booked well before he was. But that was my grandson first game this season and what a great one for him... |

Yes the inevitable defeat and capitulation in Australia yet again Agree with all the above, but for me the blame lies squarely with the ECB... and this absolutely abomination of "the 100" How are we expected to produce spinners when we are not playing 1st class cricket in August? Spinners can not operate in May or September... Preparation, tactics, personnel have all been lacking, and if I was to be honest so was professionalism. Perhaps the management team know we are sub standard in many departments, and try to hide it with the baz ball approach.... apart from Stokes Root and Archer, would any of the other 8 walk into a decent test team, doubtful. The bottom line really is test cricket as important to the ECB as it is to us, and really apart from the ashes, is it really important to the majority of English cricket fans? Yes we get decent attendance for most test series, but is there the passion from English supporters for us against Sri Lanka as there is us v the Aussies? Think there is going to have to be a serious discussion about test cricket and its future by the ECB, who for me think it is behind other formats for them. I love my test cricket, but I wonder if the powers to be feel the same. |
 | Forum Reply | Could we go up. at 22:43 20 Dec 2025
To answer your question I don't think we can go up... there are at least 5 or 6 teams better than us... and several capable of doing what we are doing Do I want us to go up... in an heartbeat . I would take a year of having our @rses handed to us on a plate and come back down with a couple of hundred million sovs in our back pocket to really start something here My dread is the Luton syndrome... but I honestly don't think that would happen to us.. Gulp |

I thought the ref had a shocker today... Mbengue must have been fouled 4 or 5 times by Mavididi and nothing.... Mavididi was very petulant simply because Mbengue had him all afternoon And there was a lot of niggling fouls all that first half... borne out of frustration |

Staying up at daughters in Uxbridge after having taken the grandson to the game....just back and that was a lovely way to start the Christmas season off... well done lads That first half was very impressive... and we really deserved that 4goal lead... second half was a little dull and the boy was hoping for more goals... from us.... but that was never really going to happen Thought our wingers were superb and Mbengue is a legend in the making... had a great game and for me just about nicked the MOTM from with Dembele or Saito Good to see Kone score and well just about the perfect afternoon... penalty aside. Thought Leicester had a look about them... as in they don't quite buy into Marti ball... not a lot of passion, not a lot of work.... really rather be doing something else Upto 7th... and having a curry ... pretty darn good Saturday if you ask me [Post edited 20 Dec 17:45]

I quote from the man himself after he gave a little smile during his interview If I can speak for myself 3 points next week would be very good" I suspect he is a very happy chappy this week wouldn't you say Brian? |

Can sum this up in one word....................Marti Madsen alluded to this in his interview last weekend, that we were well up for this and well up for it we are There is definite needle here and we are really going for this. It almost seems that the Marti ear is missed more by the fans than some of the players Our wide men have run them ragged and have been fantastic. We have completely dominated this and going in 3 up at half time would seem to be game over. The ref though has been really poor this first half, and should have booked at least 2 more of their players |

Amazing drop of Nardi...possibly our MOTM at Boro... and this week dropped... Also a tough call on Smyth... I hope I'm wrong but I'm not overly impressed with JS doing this |

Wow what memories... I never did the 84 Europe trips... I was in strike with the miners then, and married with a 3 year old and a 2 yr old... so money was .... well tight But back in December 76 we went over to Cologne for the EUFA Cup tie. We had dispatched the Germans 3-0 at our place... and decided to go to the away leg.... We drove in my mate's Mark 2 cortina estate... we took the estate so the 4 of us could sleep in it... we arrived in the then West Germany the day before.... And hit the drink straight away... I remember going to Cologne Cathedral p!ssed up and one of the lads having a slash in the back of it... and being chased out by some very irate Germans .... no sense of humour The game well what I remember was Don Masson scored very early on... and we were 4-0 up on aggregate... and then the wheels fell off... Dave Clement thumped a player and got sent off and we shipped 4 goals... and scraping through on the away goals I also vaguely remember real fighter in the squares... and my mates cortina in danger of being set alight, due to the English number plate... I thi k it was only saved by Vic and some of his mates We managed to get out alive... and drove back... I think in Belguim we shot a piston and got home to Dover on 3 ... Fantastic few days... sadly 2 of the lads are no longer with us.. Jackie and Jonny both past away... [Post edited 14 Dec 22:12]

Absolute bravery and was shot twice himself But for me him being Arabic or at least of Arabic descent is amazing as well. With the hostility that the Middle East provides between Isreal and the Arabic countries... for him to defend Jewish families is truly wonderful He is a true hero |

Top post. I was watching a stream and saw that 4-2-2-2 line up and thought they had that wrong It's the managers 4th game and he as won them all... so I think it as taken the league by surprise. Are we improving.. well yes the league position proves we are... Though I'm kinda in Lblock camp. The club seems to be on the right track with certain things... but then handling people it is way down on that Paal last year, Nardi this year... Furlong .... they seem to go out of their way to alienate personal and then ask them to "perform" The FB situation is bad though. RND is a decent championship player but he isn't ours... and at RB a CB like last year.... and we haven't addressed that I still think we are lightweight for this division. Nearly every team we play are bigger, stronger than us, and we do seem to get bullied a lot. Birmingham was perhaps the 1st game where we possibly matched physically a team. I think we are a 6/10 at the moment... stretching to a 7/10 on occasions, and a following wind |

That question could most likely be a thread in itself Personally he will get a very neutral reception from me. I was never a great lover of Marti, i always felt with his track record we were a stepping stone, which is fair enough, neither clubs or persol have much loyalty these days. And for me it was just his lack personality. The bottom line is, he is now Leicester's manager and I want to beat them simply because I want us to beat everyone. |

Well a lesson taught there............we now know what standards we need to achieve to become a good team. Boro just strolled that.........all the work done in the 1st half...........and once they got the 3rd they took the foot off the gas. Always disappointed when we loose, but you have to just hold your hands uo sometimes and shake their hands the better team won Now for Mari next week................ |

Sum this up in 3 words men v boys.............there is a gulf between us and them. We can say this and that but sometimes you just have to give the other team credit for being better than us. Yes they have opened us up and it could be 3 or 4, but they have opened us up more down to them being better than us The game is most likely over, but hope in the second half we don't capitulate and ship 4 or 5 Be interesting though what JS will do at half time |

I feel we have been a little naïve here...............they are the better team, I thought we should have had a few technical "injuries" to break up the play...........stop their momentum |
