I’ve always thought that when he didn’t have time to think about a situation and it came to making a tackle/block/put his body in the way he was more than ok, it was when he had to make a decision he seemed to get flustered and make poor ones. There’s definitely a decent defender in there on some recent showings as you say.

I went to see Hayes and Yeading play at Hartley Wintney last December. It’s a bloody long walk from Winchfield station if you are getting the train there. Advise you visit the pub by the station and book taxis in to HW village.

Jack Wilshere worth a punt
at 16:25 6 Oct 2020

I’d actually give him a go provided it was on a pay as you play basis. Don’t know why but a complete contrast to him opposed to my thoughts yesterday on Walcott. I’m still scratching my head at why we’ve signed him as it seems most Saints fans seem happy we have - not sure how much of that is because he’s a name/old academy player. Anyway, Yes I’d certainly like to see RH give Wilshere a go until Christmas on pay as you play terms.

Theo Walcott Rejoins Saints Is This A Good Or Bad Move !
at 07:46 6 Oct 2020

I honestly hope he proves me wrong and he is a great success, I sadly don’t see it happening though given what he’s achieved for his promise/talent. Something isn’t right there.
I’d rather we’d added to our defensive options and as our modus operandi in the past isn’t to get in players over a certain age I’d have liked us to taken the approach we are taking now when say Cahill was available a few seasons ago. Offering a season long contract with the option for another year if it suited both parties.
Perhaps it’s just me but I don’t see what he is going to add different to what we have in Redmond and Djnepo

Moving on Boufal was probably the right thing to do, I just don’t think Walcott will offer anything after an initial first couple of games flurry.

It’s called an opinion and I’m entitled to it.

Sorry for being Rediculous, I’ll busy myself showing you a video of Boufals goals (sorry - forgot there isn’t any more than 3)

Make sure you clap Ox and Adz when they turn up this season if we’re allowed back in.

Given it was against Spurs I can’t help but feel some satisfaction about it. I remember Sons dive against us in the fa cup game like it was yesterday.

I want to believe it is reason number 1 but think reason number 3 is the most probable outcome.

Bale and Walcott
at 10:24 16 Sep 2020

Interesting to hear that, I just assumed he’d not been involved in the first team recently. Apparently there are 8 big earners you’re looking to offload. I think Everton could well be at the start of an upward spike over the next few years. A good manager, some good signings (James Rodriguez a player I am looking forward to seeing how he does) and the new ground looks fantastic. When do you move into the new ground?

Bale and Walcott

As it’s being reported in the press that Spurs are in talks to re sign Bale I’ve also just seen that Everton are looking at releasing some of their high earners after their summer spending, among them Theo Walcott. I’d completely forgotten he was there! That was definitely a talent that never fulfilled the potential.
As both former Saints academy players would anyone on here say that Walcott went on to have the career he’d look set to have?

Most underrated 90s band ...
at 06:48 14 Sep 2020

Was due to see them this year for the 25th anniversary tour of the all change album. Saw them
10 years ago for the 15th anniversary of it. Some decent songs. Were they underrated? I’d put them on par with OCS.

Rangers and Celtic in the Premier League
at 10:22 30 Aug 2020

I’ve been to an old firm game at parkhead. It was quite eventful that’s for sure. I also have attended some of their (Celtic) pre season friendlies against qpr and spurs in the early 00’s. Have to say on both occasions they attended in massive numbers but were also the victims of random unprovoked attacks by home fans on both occasions.
They’ve no place in the premier league though with the religious baggage they bring.

Would have no such qualms about my Scottish team of choice - East Fife - being allowed over, except for when they payed Saints obviously.

I actually liked Jeff the ref. He seemed to not be overawed by the big clubs when he reffed us. I’m sure it was him who sent off Keane? when we beat Utd 6-3 that day. Compared to P Don, Ellery and Uriah Rennie he seemed to give us a fair crack. On a side note, I’m sure Rennie had his own agent back then, spoke volumes for his inflated opinion of himself.

The £20 a month extra on gas and electric won’t negate businesses thinking their employees are saving thousands on travel/food/suits etc.

We’ve got people wfh’ing that I’m convinced I’ll never see again. People in our purchasing department for example will I unfortunately think see their roles outsourced to cheaper countries where the company won’t have to pay pension or NI contributions.
