I have been to Porto, and actually has a lot to offer in terms of history and culture, but nature made it an unfriendly place to visit due to being built uphill... The airport is one of the nicest in Europe, a lot bigger then needed |

Sisao has simply responded to an offensive message written by someone using a lot of stereotypes, and idiocracy. I can understand he was pissed at missing a large portion of the game, but calling poverty stricken city, filthy etc, and then others users calling us c***ts etc, and then we would be the uncivilised people? There are dirtier city and dirtier people. Having cleaners all over the place constantly cleaning after the mess made by its citizen does not make those citizen cleaner or more civilised (e.g. London). In most British major city, poverty and filth has been hidden away in large council estates and specific out of sight
Area. Naples is full of problems, but with probably un unrivaled history, culture and natural beauty to most cities in the world, that I would not need to be compared to a small town of about 200k citizen where the tourist guides suggests to visit malls. Swansea had virtually nothing to offer, especially compared to Cardiff, but have not read comments on that regards. We came with respects and seeking and offering advice, as it would be good sense in 2014 between supporters of different sport teams wishing to travel to support their teams, but it become quickly apparent as stupid and ignorant people can be found everywhere and spoil it for others.
For the other users with a more sane perspective, that have commented using their brains, kudos to you, I am personally proud that you appreciated and/or understood my city and genuinely sorry that the police plans to avoid troubles apparently include getting the supporters in the stadium after the match has started, and that this has obviously spoiled your experience. |

First of hall, congratulation for the way your team played and the support both home and away. Over the two legs you probably should have deserved to go through. I do think that Naples played some of the worst matches of the season with Swansea, although partially for your excellent pressure and speed. However we did have chances in both games, on count less then you did, but if we had the sharpes Higuain and Callejon of the start of the seasons we would have scored more, especially yesterday, when Higuain should have had at least three before he shot on your defender butt.
And I do disagree on putting the blame one your manager substitution (I think he will be an excellent manager), as you are underestimating the impact of Mertens and Hamsik coming in. Higuain goal, was an occasion completely created by Mertens and on those occasion putting the ball in the middle create the chance as anything can happen. |

I quickly read through this thread. I am glad to hear that so far things have gone well. I have however read of one of you staying in Piazza Bellini: Just a word of caution, that is the hung out of the Curva A ultras groups, and last week some of them seemed to be pissed at being mostly outsung, so be extra careful around that area. For those of you looking for the best pizza in the city, in a nicer and safer area, a modern and welcoming pizzeria has just opened in Piazza Sannazaaro, near the sea front, run by the best pizzamaker in the city. The place is called 50 Kalò di Ciro Salvo. Worth trying if in the area, especially at lunch (less busy).

Thanks to the Welcoming Swansea fans that also understood our main message before it degenerated into silly arguments.
I had to clarify the Arsenal incidents as I had witnessed it first hand and knew straight away that the guy responsible was English, and the Arsenal fans that posted earlier still thought the Ultras had been responsible (they were already inside the stadium singing).
As a matter of fact, I befriended a steward inside the emirates, as I helped him translate his direction to the fans around us. He had been an arsenal supporter since the 70's travelling to a lot of away matches, and he told me he felt privileged to have been assigned to the away section for that game. He complimented us for the singing, starting 20 minutes before the match, to 20 minutes after, and throughout the whole match and half time break.
With regards to approaching the Napoli ultras, I think what they meant is to try to established a twinned approach, which is common in Italy, as we did with the Borussia Dortmund fans. They were applauded before the match for their choreography, then each supported their own throughout the match, and as we beat them, they applauded us and send us congratulations messages after that, this is what they meant by respect. Actually the troubles with Marseille originated from them being twinned with Sampdoria and us with Genoa (Genoa derby rivalry like west ham and Millwall), so they attacked the Neapolitan fans outside the stadium and the local Police basically did nothing, so it created tensions when they came to Naples.
Anyway, I wish both games will be all about football and both supporters groups will enjoy it |

I think the away allocation will easily sell out, then there will be UK based fans trying to buy tickets within the home supporters.
I had to watch the Chelsea-Napoli (CL 2011-12) game within the Chelsea supporters and although I was prepared to be quite and just watch the game, when we scored the 2-1 that would have seen us through I burst end and a guy wanted to start a fight with me... I had to buy him a beer to calm him down ;-) I think there were 2500 people in the away end and another couple of thousands within the stadium home supporters...

Could you share the capacity for the away end of your stadium? It was extremely difficult to get the Emirates tickets last time around and would like to understand what is the likelihood of getting a ticket before I make travel plans.

Hi all,
I am a Neapolitan-Londoner for the past 16 years and Napoli fan. I actually like Swansea and start following them last year as I really like the way Ladrup makes them play, and when we lost our manager at the end of last campaign, I was actually hoping that the ownership took him into consideration, but was equally happy to get Benitez, Higuain, Cellejon and Mertens as Napoli keeps scoring goals... I have been to the Emirates for the Arsenal game and tried to write my comment under the Daily Mail article where the Pie Place attack and this picture were covered.
Well, I have seen this guy outside and inside the Emirates and heard him speaking to the Police (he was having an argument) and the stewards inside, and he had the thickest South-London accent as well as confirming to the steward that was trying to stop him, that he was "English". This guy was arrested few days later as the video of the attack uploaded on youtube ( youtube.com/watch?v=gSgs2J1ZkpI (add www. and check the guy with the white jacket/same in the picture), clearly show him and some of his associate carrying out the attack) and then this :

Having said that, a fraction of the Ultra is violent and associated to organize crime. They are been investigated right now as apparently they do cause trouble as the Club do not want official affiliation with them (as it was before the club was reborn in 2004).
The city is beautiful and there is a lot to see, but yes be careful. At night avoid the historical centre (the area from the station to Via Toledo), and stick to the bars of Chiaia, were the upper middle class hung at night.
The stadium is old (1950's), and has been poorly maintained as it is owned by the local authority, however on UEFA night can still contain over 60,000 people and the atmosphere is incredible. Yaya Toure said it was the most incredible stadium he ever played and the only one where he remained on the pitch after loosing so to suck in the atmosphere.
