Sat at Luton airport heading Braunschweig (a), reflecting on last season, it was special. The unbeaten run was (is) great but the moments? they were really special…
We don’t really win trophies obvs, so we have to get the buzz from moments that no one can take away…These were my favourates…
Larin goal at Wrexham, run and finish front the half way line, towards our end like only Egil Ostendtat could match in our recent history. Followed by the ice cold knee slide and stare of celebration right in front of us. Welsh drum silenced. Moments
QPR home. Sat in pub 50/50 on whether to head to SMS. 5 goals, goals celebrated properly and fully because there’s no VAR. 5 moments
Charlton away, 25 moments of absolute annihilation, Charlton and their popular gaffer put to the sword.
Boro (h) play off semi, Shea Charles in front of the wall, Boro defender ducks, winning goal, winning moment. Proved in the celebration you can still tumble at least one row forward even with the railings. That word, limbs. What a moment.
Azaz, picks up the ball on the edge, turns, bend its into the corner, absolutely mental. Yellows! What a goal, what a moment.
There were more, Archer at Swansea felt big at the time, Charles late goal v Arsenal, scenes!
Will stop there as thoughts turn to 26/27 for us fans…
Relax and enjoy, smile, have fun, it’s just a game

Ignore the haters and complainers!
Have a laugh and a few beers with your mates,

Fantastic news of a pre season friendly in Europe and actually announced in good time, and not BCD! Flight booked to Düsseldorf to catch some other games and then see the mighty saints in Munster. |

Nice to meet you all, am not on social media (get off it people) so rarely get a voice! Season ticket holder on ‘the wall’. 483 home games, 252 away so far and seen the lads in 110
Grounds so far, anyway… Time for fans to take back some control
I respect the Saints fan advisory board and the work they do, however many aspects they cover do not seem to represent the thoughts of proper, legacy, passionate Saints fans.
Their recent statement really misses the mark. It’s a bit embarrassing in fact…
A protest at the first home game of 26/27 is appropriate. Northam wall (and anyone else who wants to) stay in the concourse & fan zone and do not enter into our stand until the 10th minute, at which time we all go in on masse and support the team passionately. An empty Northam at kick off makes a crystal clear statement visually and viscerally, that the club have let us down and can’t exist without loyal fans.
Instead, we got a statement claiming the communication to Saints fans was bad?, No one I know has voiced that. What did they expect? an update before the hearing? The club said what it said when it could, legally they couldn’t show their hand. Our CEO statement was perfect, said sorry, promised an investigation, lamented the proportionality of the sanction. Job done. Any other ‘communication’ could have affected the outcome. Now, they need time to make solid decisions to ensure it doesn’t happen again. Comms to fans was a non issue.
Next it’s ‘refund wanted’ for Boro (a). This is a Mickey Mouse response, when other clubs fans request it they are mocked. We paid our money, we saw the game. End of. Sadly it’s the kind of response our entitled world promotes.
Then finally. The phrase:

Sounds a little Infantino / Trump like! finding a reason to stay on. Never good in a democracy! If it’s time to go then go and let passionate Saints fans get organised. It’s the perfect time for new candidates or better still close it down and start our own stand-alone fan rep.
Fan board work hard and have helped move things forward. The problem is any fan board that meets with the club will automatically get its views diluted. German fans are organised, we aren’t, we should be, on our own terms.
The atmosphere is nothing without the Northam Wall. We need to get a little more subversive, hold the club to account using protest, no phones filming, just support for 95 minutes, and stop agreeing with additional tinpot gentrifying decorative padding like blaring music at the final whistle stopping fans expressing themselves, the light shows etc. The club shouldn’t produce our tifo (and have it sponsored by a betting company), we should do our own. Starting with something to honour Victor Udoh, a mum and dad have lost a son, so sad, a classy response needed from us, the soul of the club. Stop the faux ‘fireworks’ as the team comes out. Fans should bring the pyro! Oh and beer prices are extortionate. It hen and Kingland northam corners, stand up when you love the saints, then stay standing!
To conclude, I love the club, am proud of the club and will support home and away for evermore. I’m not joining the hysteria from Teeside and nor should our reps. The statement misses the mark. The club did wrong, let us down and got punished heavily, The club need us now more than ever, make a stand for the first ten mins of our first game then get behind our club!
I am thankful for those who serve on the fan panel but it shouldn’t be our primary voice. I’m not talking German culture or palace ultras, just that we support more passionately (especially when losing) NEVER let a drum in the northam, and represent ourselves in way that befits our status, football without fans is nothing, remember that? |
