Southampton V Nottingham Forest The Verdict
at 13:56:50

Every single sane Saints Supporter knew that we needed a new strike force before the start of this season. The club failed this obvious task and in doing so Ralph had no chance once a few of the better players were injured. Wins against Leicester away, Chelsea Home and and thoroughly deserved draw against the Arsenal seem light years away now.
It was clear without a quality Managerial replacement Ralph should have stayed and overseen this period and with a couple of Strikers and tough midfielder brought in I am confident we would have survived comfortably.
However it did not happen with too many unrealistic fans baying for Ralph’s blood and the new owners clueless in their choice of a replacement we are seemingly doomed to drop down a league. Personally I enjoyed the football just as much in the lower leagues. Winning games is fun. Haha.
I still feel we could have a chance this season, but not unless the Manager is changed immediately. It won’t happen, but Ralph has had a nice break. Get him back in give him a chance to prove himself with a 6 month contract. As I said it won’t happen but would be interesting. The Ralph out haters will be crying reading my thoughts. It’s only a game. The Championship will be fun.

Southamton V Newcastle United The Preview
at 11:13:22

A combination of shooting ourselves in the foot by not securing a proven striker and loss of our most committed players through injury has combined to see us in this lowly position. IMO with Lavia playing in some of the recent 1 goal defeats we would have obtained more points and not have this feeling of desperation.
The second half performance against Arsenal is what is needed today to give us any chance against a well drilled form team.
Am not sure any Manager could have done much more to help this situation, but suspect if we succumb to a couple of defeats then Ralph’s days with us might be numbered?
Whoever is in charge late December will hopefully have the injured players back and fit and ‘pray to God’ we get at least one Striker. The on loan suggestion is more than likely. It is all about getting us away from the bottom 3. I believe we are more than capable of achieving this. Keeping all fingers crossed.

Ralph Hasenhuttl Drops Down To 2nd Place In Sack Race Odds
at 16:21:05

Decent post.
Without adding at least one quality striker to the squad in the summer and a like for like replacement of Romeo, it was always going to be a huge gamble piecing together the squad to perform at Premiership level. A young Lavia seems to be our only hope that we can get to January with a few more points added. (Imo I am certain we would already have a few more points on the board if he did not pick up that horrid injury) And then we must spend money on real quality to supplement the young talent that we have.
Importantly the fans and the club have to be stick together and keep the faith.
Realistically does anybody really believe this current squad would perform any better under a new Manager? Without a decent striker in the squad it just seems a bit of an impossible task currently.

Southampton V Fulham The Verdict

At least it shuts up the crazy and unrealistic ‘Ralph out’ brigade for a moment. With a fitter team to pick, our close controlled football is clever and a joy to watch. Of course we would love to have a couple more works class finishers, who wouldn’t. But we are in a better place now for next season. Hope we can find some gems in the transfer market. Onwards.

Saints Injury Worry For Newcastle Game Is Not The One You Would Think !
at 15:27:35

Cannot believe the unwarranted abuse that Jack Stephens is getting on this post. Saints fans have very short memories, like Vestergaard now, Stephens was very good in the post lock down period. Give him a break, give him a chance. He has proven his ability. Let’s see if my faith is proven,

Saints V Arsenal The Verdict
at 10:23:14

Good and fair report.
Dangerously in need of a quality centre back to work alongside Bed. Really believe that Jack Stephens would make an improvement on Hojberg in the holding role in midfield.
Another right back also needed.
We have some good talent up front. Think and hope that Djenepo will be a big player for us next season. As we cannot spend half a billion on a title chasing squad, we should be happy that we should be able to compete in every game and not feel that we are a bottom half team. Yesterday was a repeat of everything our home form has been. Which will continue to happen with a team definitely set up and capable of playing perfectly at away grounds. Arsenal did to us, what we have done away this season. Crazy season really.

Saints At Crystal Palace The Verdict
at 05:35:05

Superb team effort again. Well done Ralph. Thank God the idiots calling for his head earlier this season have been silenced!
With just a half decent start to the season and home record we would be comfortably top 4? Frightening but true. Nobody to fear now. Liverpool will have to be at their very best to beat us now. (IMHO)
Exciting times again. Well done to everybody. Serious cup run on the cards? Hope so!

Ignore The Rumours ! Sit Back And Wait !

Please somebody!
Tell me why Danso has been signed as primarily a pacey strong centre half?
Is he still at the club? Is he that bad a player???
He’s never played at centre half. Definitely the right size and presence?

Saints Can Now Take On The Big Boys !
at 13:53:17

I really wish the negative people who continually post on here with such depressing regularity, would choose something else to follow, that might make them happy. (I doubt it?)
Football is not life and death. Enjoy it and suffer it, but stay positive. You would think the management team and certain players had murdered one of their clise family members? Horrible to read and uninspiring for the majority who follow SFC through thick and thin. Discuss, but stop with the nastiness!

Virgil Van Dijk Refuses To Play For Saints
at 10:55:45

The club hold every single card with this one. VVD was given a 6 year 20million contract to play for SFC. That is enough money to give 20 of us a lifetime of luxury. We don't need the money from his sale, so now is the time to make a huge example of him and let him get over himself on his personal training pitch away from every other Saints player. I would not play him in the reserves.
Funny how no transfer request has been made? He likes the thought of the selling fee no doubt?
He has the potential of being the best CB on the planet. I loved watching the guy. Would pay just to see him. But unless he makes a swift apology to the club and fans, there is seemingly no way back. If he puts in a transfer request, then £75 mill to anybody except Liverpool. Would rather he went to Pompey or Everton, than allowing Liverpools arrogant method of stealing players win out!

Claude Puel Reported To Be In Talks With French Club

Fubsy. Spot on above.
And the anti les Reed comment. Mental! He is a mastermind behind much of what our club is now about!
We are a great club. The fans are the only issue right now!

Saints Board Want To Use League Cup Final As A Springboard
at 09:09:25

Luffy.
Why do you bother going to watch the Saints? It must be so painful for you?
Were Poch or Koeman well known top managers? We have made so many inspired signings at all staffing levels. I truly believe Claude Puel is another. Our passing play is as good as any team. This has been highlighted by the addition of a goal scorer. At last! Once the centre of defence is 'normalised' I believe we can match any team in our league.
I have enjoyed the challenges this season and think we will have a great season next year. If VVD stays as looks increasingly likely. His Twitter and Instagram does indicate his love of the club. I think we will have good times ahead. Another Cup final is now more likely than ever. Now we have the taste.

Dan's Report ! Will Claude Puel Be Saints Manager Next Season ?
at 20:02:12

As bad as Branfoot?
Boring press conferences?
Give it a rest!
Let the haters hate?
I for one think we are fine. A new striker and Long scoring again. Will be a fun end to the season. Keep the faith. It is only a game!

Time For Puel To Stop Trying To Be Clever And Get Back To Basics
at 12:29:53

I feel many of the points are valid. However losing Pelle, Mane and Vic and not replacing them with players of that standard has hurt this team (Rom has stepped up to the plate), especially in a season where most teams have learned how to defend better than last. The last three games have been horrendous. It seems every shot against us goes in and every deflection goes into the path of an opposing attacker. A combination of a necessary (Fixture list nightmare of 3 games in 117 hours) but ultimately failing rotation policy, some real bad luck and a powder puff attack is now showing up and morale is naturally low.
I am not certain many managers would have done much better this season?
I think the club and fans need to hold firm and get us to the the end of the season. Only a few weeks ago, we were doing fine. Our first 11 is still more than capable of giving anyone a game. Against Bournemouth, I had hoped we had seen a turn around. But, back to earth with a huge bump since!
It is clear that we need two or three quality signings. But that never happens in January. The board must surely see this and must react in the summer. This of course could also mean a new manager if Claude does not work out. But I for one, hope he succeeds. (Why did he adopt his diamond. See it working, then change it?)
However we are still currently in a healthy position and together we can get through this horrendous period.
Enjoy your football. Remember despite what Bill Shankly once said, it is not a matter of life or death! It s only a game! Haha!

Everton Launch Bid For Charlie Austin
at 09:59:58

Some of the comments on here are worrying! Not for our beloved SFC, but for the individuals posting them. If you take the modern game too seriously, you will put yourself in serious chance of a total breakdown?
Enjoy the days out at St Mary's and away games. Give total support to the wonderful people who have transformed club and if we lose a few games. Get a life! In today's crazy game, if we spent £250 million on players, it would guarantee what? Would those players be loyal to the shirt? Would it really guarantee anything other than unsettling the balance at the club.
If you want to support that type of club and become a glory hunter, then there are a few others that you best go and 'support'?

Sadio Mane Will Not Sign A New Deal And Will Force Move Say Media
at 22:15:16

I cannot believe the people that are starting to take shots at the owner of this club?
What they have given us is more than we could ever have dreamed about.
We are going through another sticky period on the pitch. Have some faith people.
What other club has ever had the misfortune to have so, so many of their players grabbed by the so called top four. It is unprecedented. These players have wanted to move, none of them have begged to stay? The club gets the best price and we move on. Getting the right players as replacements takes some doing and we are still very much sorting that side out!
I for one cannot understand the doom and gloom. We are still very much a great club!
